The Met-Mostly paintings

We continued through The Met. It was almost time to see what would be mostly my favorite part of the museum. I loved the paintings!

This is the oldest known piano in the world. It dates from 1720 in Italy.

We saw a ton of European paintings from the 1300's through the 1700's.

We finally got to the impressionists which was what I was looking forward to. So many beautiful paintings!

Elizabeth loved the Van Gogh paintings. We loved the wheat field one.

There were 16 Van Gogh paintings at The Met while we were there. Apparently, it is rare to have 16 there all together at once so we visited at a good time!

Elizabeth had been wanting to see this one by Seurat.

I loved the ones that really showed the light.

I could have spent MUCH more time looking at the paintings and looking at them more closely, but the kids were just not having it. We sped through pretty quickly.
