Check out this amazing vegetable train that Laura and Elizabeth made!!!!

It was the most impressive thing about Thanksgiving this year.

A picture before dinner.

The head chef. Good job chef!

Trying to get a family photo.

Eating the vegetable train.

It was quite the train.

Pippa managed to find the turkey guts bag that was left outside. Here she is running around with a turkey neck in her mouth. It was funny to watch Laura try to chase her down to get the turkey neck from her.

Papa and Elizabeth played hangman. They are both scratching their heads here so something confusing must be going on.

Elizabeth helped Papa alphabetize his letters.

Nathan and Jeremy tried to teach Pippa a new trick. Shake!

Jeremy got Papa Norm's old record player going. Here is Nathan watching the record player. He thought it was weird. The record player is from 1968.

Elizabeth arranged all the furniture in the dollhouse.

The turkey trot.

You can see Nathan coming across the finish line here. He was the winner. Jeremy had cheated and run just around the house rather than the driveway. He was disqualified.

Elizabeth got 2nd place. Pippa ran off course again after taking off in a strong lead. She was also disqualified.

Papa came in 3rd and Laura came in 4th.

Gosh, not many people finished the race legally! Mom was laughing too hard, I was busy taking pictures, and Jeremy and Pippa ran off course.

Pigeon Hunt

The boys headed out on a pigeon hunt. Papa Norm has a lot of disgusting pigeons that like to come roost in his sheds. They make huge messes. He's been wanting someone to shoot them. Jeremy thought he'd give it a try. He missed and all the pigeons flew away.

Nathan decided he wanted to go shooting again. It was all he was asking about. So the boys headed out to find a bank to shoot into.

Preparing all the guns.

They set up a little table so Nathan wouldn't have to hold the guns that were too heavy for him.

It was easier for him to sit and shoot.

Checking out his accuracy.

A little more practice.

Jeremy was the range safety master.

A few pictures before the pigeon hunt.

Pippa did not head out target shooting. She preferred to stay in the house and nap. None of those loud shots.

Grandma Pam's

We went to visit Grandma Pam this week since the kids had the week off from school. We stopped by her house for a bit and then traveled on to Royal City to have Thanksgiving.

It was decided that it is time for Nathan to learn how to shoot. He's been waiting a long time and wanting to learn. It's a very good skill to have. We just wanted to make sure he was old enough to not shoot his sister.
Jeremy is, of course, an expert shooter. He is also a good teacher and very calm so he set out to teach Nathan the basics. First, Nathan had to learn the 4 basic rules of shooting and memorize them. Then, he had to demonstrate the rules.

Jeremy showed Nathan how it works with his pellet gun.

Nathan would run and stack the cans back up as Jeremy would shoot them down.

Some instructions.

Practicing. The guns Jeremy have are quite heavy for Nathan. We are going to get him a bb gun for Christmas so he will have one he can control more easily and shoot by himself.

Nathan had a good lesson in "beware of your backdrop." He was about to shoot when 2 chickens ran right in front of him!

Grandma found some cardboard to shoot.

Nathan looking for pellets.

Elizabeth ran around being silly.

I'm not sure what pose this was, but it was silly.

Nathan did not want to stop shooting. He absolutely loved it. It's all he wanted to do that day.

A rock for Grandma Pam.

It was really cute how Lucy the cat sat between the heater and the stove to keep warm.

Elizabeth liked to pet and feed the neighbor's horses.

We kept going back to check on the boys. Nathan just wanted to keep shooting.

Grandma Pam throwing carrots at the horses.

It was a good visit. The kids also watched "Anne of Green Gables" for the first time! They talked about the "Depths of Despair" the rest of the day. Also, Elizabeth always likes to imitate characters she sees in movies. She has now decided to be Anne whenever we travel. She tries to talk about as many things as she can without stopping. Isn't that great!
At least it's better than a sloth. After she watched Zootopia, she spent a lot of time practicing how to move and talk like a sloth. Although it was hilarious, acting like a sloth is not great when parents are trying to get kids to do things. I guess talking all the time is better!

Badger Mountain hike

Jeremy and the kids hiked Badger on a foggy day. They wanted to see if they could hike above the fog.

Last Day of School

The last day of school was June 12th. 4th grade and 2nd grade are now over! Nathan had his best school year ever and Elizabeth had a pretty...
