Easter

Here are some pictures from Easter. Jeremy had to work. I made an Easter dinner and Papa Norm, Grandma Jane, and Aunt Laura came over. We had an easter egg hunt that was quite fun! Nathan was very much into it. Elizabeth didn't quite get it. When she'd come across a hidden egg, she'd take the old one out of her basket and put the new one in.
It was our first 60 degree day of the year. Sadly, the weather is now back at 50 and the rest of the week is going to be rainy and cold. At least we had nice weather for an easter egg hunt outside!

Funny Nathan

Nathan says the funniest things sometimes.

Tonight, he took 7 huge broccoli pieces and put them on his plate. He then ate each one. He pretended his teeth were a chainsaw that was cutting down the little trees. He made the sound effects and everything!

Nathan sometimes still mixes up words. It's so cute! Here are some funny mix-ups he did today.

Umbilical cord= extension cord

Stethoscope= telescope

Severus Snape = Curious Snape

He makes silly faces too. And yes, his sister adores him.

Elizabeth's words and other milestones-13 months

I wanted to make a list of Elizabeth's words at almost 14 months.

Her new favorite is: "No!" She says this frequently.

She also says:

Bye Bye
Hi
Shoe
Cracker
Dada
Nanan (Nathan)
Yes (and nods her head)
More
Balloon

She also quacks like a duck and moos like a cow.

Other neat tricks include buzzing when you ask her to and sticking our her tongue when you ask her to. She claps and waves and likes to point at things.

She understands pretty much everything. If you tell her we're going to get dressed, she walks to her dresser and tries to open it. She tries to pull her shirt off.

If you tell her we're going outside, she goes and tries to get her coat and tries to put her shoes on. She knows what highchair means and heads there a lot!

If you talk about downstairs, she'll head over to the baby gate and stand there.

If I recite lines from her favorite books, she'll go over to her bookshelf and find the right book. It's really cute! She likes to cuddle up in my lap while I read.

Trip to the Dentist!

Our fabulous Laura cleans our teeth every April. It's so nice of her! In October, we go and see the dentist and a different hygienist.

Yesterday, we drove out to her office in the valley to get our teeth cleaned.

Jeremy and I did great! No problems! Nathan; however, did not let Laura do anything to his teeth. We're going to have to take him to a pediatric dentist. Laura says they might have to drug him to get his teeth checked. He has very deep grooves on his back teeth and Laura thinks there might be cavity problems.

Here are some photos from the dentist.

I wanted some of Nathan in the chair, but he wouldn't cooperate.

Both were quite fascinated!

Elizabeth loved to run laps around the office.

It's fun to have your teeth cleaned with a preschooler on your lap!

Calling 911

Elizabeth called 911 tonight.

I had just finished talking to Laura on the phone. I set the phone on the couch and went to do some dishes.

As I'm doing dishes, I notice Elizabeth is walking toward me with the phone. It sounded like there was someone on the line.

Sure enough, it was dispatch wanting to know if everything was ok. Once I assured them everything was fine, they started laughing and said that the call had made their day.

I guess Elizabeth just wanted to talk to Daddy.

Nathan also called 911 once when he was around this age. It wasn't as funny though! He called 911 and then hung up. When 911 gets a hangup, they dispatch an officer to the house.

Well, guess who got dispatched to our house? Jeremy was driving code to our house worrying that something was wrong with Nathan. (Like an allergic reaction). Luckily, dispatch and I made contact so Jeremy did not have to show up. Plus, everything was fine!

I guess it's a right of passage for the children of this house to call 911. Hopefully, it won't happen again!

Here are a few photos of Nathan riding his first bike! He's been riding around in the shop when it's raining, but the sun came out this day!
