Grandma Pam's visit

We are leaving on our big trip next week. Grandma Pam won't be able to come to Nathan's 11th birthday party when we get back, so we celebrated his birthday today (2 weeks early).

Nathan got some neat presents. He loves all these things! Star Wars, Harry Potter, and pineapples!!

Grandma Pam brought a wacky cake. On top, she had put a picture of Nathan mowing the lawn. It was really neat and totally edible!

We put on the 11 candle and sang Happy Birthday.

He wanted to eat himself so he got the piece with him mowing the lawn!

Grandma Pam also came to Pelican Bay with us and went swimming. She loved the lazy river!

Summerfest Royal City

Here are some Summerfest pictures of the kids.

Here is Friday night at the barbeque. They are posing with the parade grand marshalls.

Jeremy and I left Saturday morning to head over to his 20 year class reunion. Grandma Pam came down to visit and took the rest of these photos for me! Here's everyone waiting for the parade to start.

Elizabeth had her candy bag ready. Nathan wasn't too interested in the candy this year.

When they got back home, Elizabeth finished her snowcone. Nathan had dropped his.

Nathan got a shirt! Elizabeth has a new ball! The politicians like to hand out toys and shirts now.

The 2 20 Year Class Reunion Weekend

Jeremy and I had TWO class reunions last weekend. It was a weird coincidence they were on the same weekend. Mine had 2 days of events so I had to miss the second day of events, but what are you going to do?

Royal had their reunion at the yearly Summerfest. 12 people came that made it into the picture anyway. I think our graduating class was around 50.

The next morning, we got up and drove across the state to Montesano. That's a long drive and traffic through the south sound was not pleasant, but we made it in time!

I got to be the photographer! How exciting! About 45 people were at Jeremy's reunion. There were 108 people in his graduating class.

4th of July

Here are some pictures from our 4th of July here. We have a lot of neighbors who go absolutely crazy with fireworks so we always get a good show. You can't even look up into the sky without seeing at least one firework on the 4th of July!

Geocoin Challenge

The kids and Jeremy did the Tri Cities Geocoin challenge. They had to find 8 geocaches (little treasure boxes) in each of the 4 Tri Cities for a total of 32 geocaches.  You use GPS to find a geogache. It is like a scavanger hunt. After you found all 32 geocaches and noted that you had found them, you got a prize!

They found one geocache in a little fridge.

They hiked around different areas finding geocaches.

They spent about 5 hours driving around all 4 cities looking for the geocaches. They had a lot of fun and really enjoyed it. This one was in a tube.

Elizabeth pointing the way to the next geocache!

When they had found all 32 geocaches, they were able to go get their prize. It was a challenge coin. There were 425 coins available. By the time they got their coin, there were only 30 left so they did the challenge just in time. Good thing Jeremy heard about it before all the coins were gone!

The theme this year was "Taste of the Tri Cities." Each geocache had a food theme (which is why they found one in a little fridge) and each city had a different food theme.  Pasco was appetizers. Kennewick was main course. Richland was side dish. West Richland was desserts.  Here is the front of the coin.

Here is the back of the coin. It has each city symbol.

Proud of their GPS and treasure hunting skills!

Dust Devils Game

Papa Norm and Grandma Jane came down for a birthday celebration. We went to dinner and then went to a Dust Devils game. The kids enjoyed snacking throughout the game. They each had TWO snowcones and kettle corn! They also had fun running across the field with Dusty.  The Dust Devils lost to the Boise Hawks. Afterwards, they had a fireworks show!!
