Grandma Pam's

We went to visit Grandma Pam.

We took a few family pictures. Yes, the boys are wearing only sweatshirts and I am wearing my big huge coat. I didn't actually need the big huge coat, but just didn't know how cold it would be, so I went with the worst case coat scenario.

Grandma picture

While Elizabeth was exploring, she came across a deer skeleton.

Jeremy cut down some cottonwoods that were trying to overtake Grandma Pam's aspens.

Nathan did some bb gun shooting.

Jeremy got up on the roof to clean out the chimney. Elizabeth and Grandma helped vacuum up any dust that came out.

Elizabeth did quite a lot of exploring. She explored the creek, picked up rocks and found good hiding spots.

Nathan reloading his bbs.

He was quite camo!

The other night, the kids were beginning to argue or have some kind of problem while I was cooking.

I told them to please stop fighting as dinner was almost ready.

Nathan said, "Mom, we're not fighting. We're conducting aggressive negotiations."

Bowling

Nathan's friend had a birthday party at the bowling alley. It's hard to just drop him off and leave due to all his allergies, so Jeremy, Elizabeth and I stayed and just did our own bowling. Well, Jeremy and Elizabeth bowled. I wasn't feeling too well.

They set up their game with some funny names.

Jeremy gave Elizabeth a few pointers.

Every time after Elizabeth bowled, she ran to me and sat in my lap! I love it when that happens! I got lots of good snuggles.

Jeremy did such a good job of teaching Elizabeth that she actually beat him during one of the games. She was Joe on this one. Granted, she had the bumpers up and he did not.

Here are a few pictures of Nathan bowling with his friends at Eva's party.

Nathan and Miley taking turns.

Nathan had a lunge and throw system he used...

Veteran's Day Concert

The 2nd graders put on a fabulous Veteran's Day Concert. It was so patriotic and gave thanks to our Veterans. Grandma Pam was visiting and was able to attend. That was perfect because she is a veteran.

Elizabeth was very serious about wearing red, white, and blue. Her headband is a dark blue and she put red and white flowers on it.

As you can see here, she wore a blue cardigan, white shirt, red pants, and white socks!

A view of the other half of the group.

They sang some great songs! They sang the Star Spangled Banner, You're a Grand Old Flag, My Country Tis of Thee, America the Beautiful, Proud of our Veterans, American Tears, and Thank a Vet.

I think they were all proud of their great singing!

I think there are around 106 second graders at her school. It's the biggest class in the school.

Smiling at her friend Cecilia.

Aqua Track

The kids had a fun time this weekend trying out the Aqua Track. It was a big obstacle  course on the pool! I had to drag them out after an hour and they were exhausted! There was a lot of climbing and crawling and swimming involved. They have this open every weekend all winter so it will be a fun thing for them to do.

When we got home, I opened the dryer to throw in their wet swimsuits and towels. I had to pull out dried snowpants, gloves and hats! It seemed bizarre to take out cold weather clothes and put warm weather wear in the dryer on the same day! The dryer was busy today.

First Snow

We had our first snow today. This is the earliest I ever remember significant enough snow to make a snowman. I really hope we don't have 9 missed days of school and
like 7 delays again. Things are not starting out well though...

Nathan in his new coat that Papa Norm and Gram got him for his birthday.

Nathan made a BB-8.

Elizabeth made a little snowman.

Let's hope we don't have a 2 hour delay tomorrow if we get some more tonight...

Tennis on Halloween

For Elizabeth's tennis lesson on Halloween, a dinosaur showed up to coach!

It was her coach in a dinosaur costume of course, but she thought it was the best thing ever.

She couldn't wear her Princess Leia costume to tennis so she dressed in all black and wore her black cat ears. She won candy playing tennis games. Here, she's carrying all her candy on her racquet.
