Libby Cross Country Meet

Final Result: Nathan got 18th out of 73 for the 8th grade boys. His time was 13:29 for 2 miles.

Nathan's next meet was at Libby MS just down the road. This was a hard meet to take pictures at. They ran off from the starting line and ran a mile and turned around and came back. Therefore, I only saw him at the very beginning and very end. The clouds threatened rain the whole time, but held off JUST until his race ended. It started to pour just as I was walking to the van. Nathan rode home on his bike and I passed him as the rain was just pouring down on him. I felt badly, but he said he was just fine.

Since they had to start the race late, due to lack of bus drivers, they ran all the boys together at 5:30. At the end, the 7th graders went through one chute and the 8th graders went through another.

Cross Country Meet-Hansen Park

Final results: Nathan got 14th out of 70 of the 8th grade boys. His time was 14:02 for 2 miles.

Nathan had a cross country meet in Hansen Park in Kennewick. They continue to struggle with not having enough bus drivers. Normally, meets start at 4:00.  They normally ran 7th grade girls at 4:00, 7th grade boys at 4:30, 8th grade girls at 5:00 and 8th grade boys at 5:30.

Due to the bus driver shortage, they now have to start meets at 5:00 so by the time his race started at 6:30, the sun was about going down. I have found it's very hard to take good pictures at cross country meets! He runs by too fast and doesn't run by that often. Here's what I managed to take.

Start line when I called him out to say hello.

Nathan's first cross country meet!

Nathan had his first ever cross country meet in 8th grade! He didn't run cross country last year due to covid.

Here they are lining up. Nathan is in the red in the middle with the glasses. Jeremy was at work so couldn't come. I was busy taking videos for him to see later so didn't get any pictures of Nathan running. I do have videos!
Nathan had a GREAT first race! He ran 2 miles in 14:29. He got 4th place! We think there were about 25 boys running so he did really well. We were so proud.
