Christmas Day

Jeremy had to work on Christmas too so we snuck in a Christmas celebration between when he woke up and when he got ready for work. Papa Ray and Kim came down! They brought the snow with them. It just started snowing when they arrived and continued throughout the day. White Christmas!

Elizabeth helped Papa Ray shovel some of the snow out of his truck.

Happy to shovel!

Opening presents! Wasn't that blue and silver wrapping paper pretty?

Elizabeth snuggling Kim.

Nathan shoveling snow

Elizabeth packing a snowball.

At this point, Nathan said he was too cold and it was snowing too hard so he went inside.

Opening presents was more fun than being in the cold. Nathan got this great castle!

This Little People Nativity set is very cute!

Both kids got "bath paint" they can use to paint the bathtub. They love it.

Here's Elizabeth with her bath paints. Today, she actually painted herself blue. She looked like a smurf.

Her face here cracks me up. Hurry up Mom! You're taking way too long!

Nathan got this little jail playset. Jeremy of course showed him how to use it.

Christmas Eve

We celebrated Christmas Eve with the Spragg family! Jeremy had to leave for work at 3 pm so we celebrated much earlier than the actual "Eve." Auntie Laura, Pippa the Dog,  Papa Norm, and Gram came down. It's so fun to watch kids open Christmas presents.

Nathan has been obsessed with puppies since August. (This is when Laura got Pippa). Here is his new dog house from Auntie Laura. It has FIVE little puppies inside to play with. He now sleeps with all the puppies.

It's hard to see, but Elizabeth got a house with 5 little kitties! She loves these little kitties too.

Nathan had been wanting a marble run, but I kept holding off until I knew Elizabeth would not try to eat them. So he's got one now!

Auntie LeAnne sent these My Little Ponies. Elizabeth LOVES these little ponies. She's been playing with them all the time. Actually, she now pretends they are treats and pretends to eat them...not sure why...

I got Elizabeth a set of animal masks. She is LOVING them. She and Nathan run around all the time with the masks pretending they are animals.

Elizabeth got this great tent from Great Aunts Karen and Ilene. She now calls it her house and stashes all her toys in there. It's very cute. She'll go in and talk to all her animals. She loves it.

Nathan also loves the garbage man. He'd been wanting a garbage truck so he can go around picking up trash. He loves this thing! Thanks Gram!

Gram got Elizabeth this dolly crib/highchair/sink. She loves it!

Snow!

We got our first snow on Christmas! So we had a white Christmas this year.

Nathan was happy to give his snow shovel some work. He shoveled the whole driveway. We probably didn't have more than 2 inches so it was pretty easy for him. Except he shoveled before it was done snowing...so he sighed.

Nathan's snowman.

Elizabeth's snowman

They liked to make snowmen and then knock them down. They both thought it was hilarious. At least they didn't fight when one person would knock down the other's snowman.

TARDIS Tree Topper

We've been married 10 years and have never had a real tree topper. I could never find one I liked. They were all ugly angels or other unoriginal stuff.
My favorite TV show is Doctor Who. The TARDIS is the time traveling/space traveling machine. It's disguised as a police box. Jeremy MADE me a little TARDIS tree topper. It looks JUST like the real thing. He did such a good job on it. Now it looks like the TARDIS is spinning about our Christmas tree. I think any Doctor Who fan would be mighty impressed. It is FANTASTIC!

Ugly Christmas Sweater

One of Jeremy's coworkers had an "Ugly Christmas Sweater" party. You're supposed to buy an ugly Christmas sweater to wear. Jeremy didn't want to spend money on that so he thought of a really creative thing to do! He spray painted an old sweatshirt. Then, he added a few Christmas ornaments with safety pins.  It was probably the best one there! If there had been a prize, he might have won. Although he said one girl wore a Husky sweater so she likely had the "ugliest" sweater.

Socks everywhere are not good for house elves

Here's a funny conversation that happened tonight as I was doing dishes.

Me: "It sure would be nice to have a house elf to do these dishes for me."
Jeremy: "A house elf would not last long here. WAY too many socks floating around."

This is very true. A few certain little people are NOTORIOUS for taking their socks off and just leaving them in random places. Then, I go to find the socks and can't find them. So I put new socks on the child. Later, they take those off. So by the end of the day, it would not surprise me if there were 8 socks laying around the house somewhere.

Silly Time

Here's Elizabeth sitting on Nathan who is sitting on me. It was very silly. Jeremy snapped the photo. Then, we all fell on the bed.

Story Time

We go to the library on Tuesday mornings for Storytime! (Nathan currently has preschool M, W, and F mornings).  This is a rare photo I took of the 2 of them sitting together actually listening to the stories. Elizabeth was there for about 20 seconds before she was up and on my lap again. She spends the rest of the time fussing, wanting to go home,  wanting to walk around, needing to go potty, etc. Nathan sits there the entire 45 minutes totally engaged. I guess that's the difference between a 5 year old and a 2 year old. Although she will be 3 in less than two months...

Pre-Nap Snuggles

Preparing for nap time by watching a little afternoon Thomas and Friends. She loves to snuggle with Daddy before she takes her nap. They both get tired. Then, they move on to their respective beds. It's just cute to watch them all sleepy.

Shoveling Sand

It appears we will not be getting near the amount of snow here in the Tri-Cities as we did in Spokane. What are Jeremy and Nathan supposed to do every morning if they have no snow to shovel? We saw it snowed a lot in Spokane yesterday and we got no snow. Nathan sighed and said, "What am I supposed to do with my snow shovel?"
Then, he walked outside into the 59 degree mostly sunny day and started shoveling sand. He said we could pretend it was snow. His goal was to turn over all the sand in the garden. It was funny.

Elizabeth just mowed the sand.

I'm sure we'll get snow at some point this winter. For winter weather in this state, I guess Seattle gets rain, Spokane gets snow, and we get wind!

Our trip to the North Pole!

The kids, Grandma Pam, and I went to visit some reindeer today! These two were Dancer and Prancer. Santa keeps them behind this large fence so we weren't allowed to pet them.

Our Little Angel

Nathan's Sunday school class gave their Christmas performance today. The 5 year olds got to be angels and they sang four Christmas songs.

Nathan said he kept getting hit in the face with wings.

Walking up to the front

He did really well actually singing! He's on the far right.

Auntie Laura, he's on the far right in the little plaid blue shirt.

Elizabeth was very interested. She can't wait to be 3 so that next year she can dress up and sing too. The 3 year olds dressed up as stars this year. When Nathan is 6 next year, he gets to be a king!

Scooter Games

The house we're renting has all hardwood floors. Mostly, I complain about how much I dislike hardwood throughout the entire house.

Reasons?

Having to sweep 10 times a day, it's SO LOUD and echoes so much, the floors are cold and hard on your feet, no matter how much I clean the floor- it still feels dirty, etc.

But there is one good part about the floors. It's fun to ride scooters around on! These kids go crazy driving around on their scooters. They have a lot of fun. You can't hear anything due to the noise, but it entertains them.

Sometimes they ride on the same one. Sometimes they race. Sometimes they push each other. It's great!
