It's so hard to find nice girls shorts for tweens. We found a couple of cute pairs for Elizabeth! She loves the tie ones.

4/20 Track Meet-Libby Middle School

There was another FREEZING cold meet the week after the last freezing cold meet. This one was at Libby Middle School. Since Elizabeth goes to school there, she came over after school and got a snowcone. Even though it was cold, she ate that snowcone anyway!

Nathan did some events. Here were his results. He was still sick this week. I could hear him coughing as he was running his mile.

4/13 Track Meet-Ray Reynolds Middle School

Nathan had a track meet at Ray Reynolds Middle School in Pasco. It was FREEZING out. Luckily, I was able to park the car right near a fence where I could watch what was going on. I didn't get many pictures as I spent most of the meet in the car. I did get a few pictures of his long jumping. He also ran the mile and the relay. He wasn't feeling well during the meet with a bad sore throat that turned into a bad cold.

April 11 Snow

We got home from our trip Sunday night and woke up on Monday, April 11th to an interesting surprise! We had a few inches of snow! I guess Mother Nature wanted a Spring Break too and decided to give up. I was very surprised school was not on a 2 hour delay, but it wasn't.  This has been a very cold spring. About the coldest I remember. Snow in April (and this much) is so weird around here! It was strange to drive around that day and see the pink flowering trees covered in snow?  All our plants are really far behind due to all this cold weather.

I went in to have my hair done later that day. I liked what she did!

Spring Break Day 10-The Trip Home

Our flight was delayed 2 hours. Thankfully, we had no connecting flight anywhere and were simply 2 hours late getting to Seattle that afternoon. This is why I'm a big fan of no connecting flights if at all possible! That's why we drive to Seattle to catch flights since they are more likely to be direct.

Sunrise over the Mississippi on our way to the New Orleans Airport.

Leaving New Orleans.

The drive home started as expected with traffic on 405.

High gas prices in Issaquah was also expected.

What WAS surprising was terrible pass conditions on April 10th. We got to the summit ok, but coming down the other side was weird. There were people who had run off the road so it causes backups. Since there were backups, the snow kept accumulating on the road and the plows couldn't get through. The roads were super sketchy and probably took us an extra 30 minutes, but we made it through.

Traffic back up.

We were driving 1 mile an hour so Elizabeth decided to taste some snow.

The worst of the traffic. Once we got to a little lower elevation, all was well again and we made it home late Sunday afternoon to sun and wind.

Spring Break Trip Day 9-Vicksburg and New Orleans

Saturday morning, we drove from Vicksburg to New Orleans.

We drove down through historic Vicksburg.

They had some really neat murals along the Mississippi River.

I liked taking pictures of all the wisteria along the highway.

The bridge crossing the Mississippi right before we got to cousin Becky's house.

Elizabeth and cousin Mirabelle playing on their fun swing.

Their town was hit straight on with Hurricane Ida. All the bare dirt is where trees had to be cut down and pulled out. They couldn't live in their house for 4 months due to the damage. All around them, houses were being rebuilt and fixed.

A yummy dinner!

We are on Spring Break and my memories popped up with a picture from exactly 10 years ago. We aren't traveling this year and since it wa...
