Amazing Flowers

Jeremy and I went to Seattle a few days ago. I had a doctor's appointment. I like to take pictures of pretty flowers. Here are some I found in Issaquah.

Look at this Wistiria!!

The rhododendrons are out in full bloom and looking amazing! Here are some pretty red ones at the QFC in Issaquah.

Hanging out during Piano Lessons

Most days that Nathan has piano lessons, I have to bring Elizabeth along too! During the cold weather, we sit inside and quietly read books. When it's nice out, she runs outside in the piano teacher's yard.

First Communion

Nathan had his First Communion on Sunday.

Here is his very own pew for his family. He designed the banner.

Jeremy couldn't get the day off work. Too many other people had taken the day off. However, he was allowed to use 2 hours of vacation time to come. He parked his police car right out front and then headed right back to work when church was over.

Below are the pictures of Nathan with everyone.

Green

Here are some pretty pictures from Papa and Gram's from over spring break. It was just green all over! Very pretty!

There are three greens in this picture. Grass, wheat, and hay!

Nathan's Joke

As we were driving yesterday, we were talking about the rivers around here and how the  Yakima River sometimes splits in two and forms little islands before it flows back together. Here was the conversation.

Me: The Yakima splits up by Twin Bridges Road and then comes back together.

Nathan: So Twin Wizards Road crosses an island?

Nathan: Oh man, I've been reading too much Harry Potter. I have Potter Brain.

Nathan: Clearly, that road was named after Fred and George...

Elizabeth and I laughed and laughed.

Forts and Dragons

The weather has been amazing lately. The kids have been spending all their time playing outside.

They made a fort...

Nathan spent a bunch of time drawing all the different kinds of dragons from Harry Potter.

Paper Bag Weed Princess

Elizabeth decided that she wanted to make clothes out of plants so she could look like Eve. She pulled out a bunch of weeds and made herself a weed hat and created a weed bracelet. I guess the brown paper is a dress? Or perhaps she's trying to be naked without actually being naked? I'm not sure...

I guess I better get her some new toys if she's now playing with weeds.

Playdough Animals

Nathan made some animals out of play dough. He insisted I take pictures.

A snowy owl

A snake

Tennis

We also played some tennis when we visited with Papa Norm and Gram.

Nathan's dancing stance?

Well, Elizabeth played for a little bit, but then our little monkey wanted to climb as usual.

And more climbing.

Cousins

Our kids have no first cousins. They have some third cousins they see once in a while. My cousin Carolyn and her 2 boys came to visit the farm over spring break so we got to see them and the kids got to play with them.

The Pippa Chronicles

When we visited Papa and Gram's, we got to spend a lot of time with Pippa. While her mother was at work, I took pictures chronicling her day to send to her mother.

The morning tummy rub.

Papa left in the Kubota without her and she was distraught. She just watched and cried.

She came and stared at me like I could somehow fix this problem.

She moped around a lot.

She spent another part of the day sitting here....

And another part of the day sitting here....

She doesn't nap NEARLY as much as her mother claims she does.

Mud at Gram's

We went to visit Gram and Papa for a few days over Spring Break while Jeremy was working. They found the mud!

They have a flowing ditch that was fun to play with.

She found a little shell in there!

Mudballs

More mudballs

They made a bigger mud pit over near the raspberry patch. It took Gram and I longer to bathe them and clean their clothes then it did for them to make the mess!

This is where they threw the mud up so it would fall like rain...

More Adventures in Law Enforcement

Jeremy has ended up in the hospital 3 times already this year!  He blames it on being on day shift. For some reason it keeps injuring him. Here are the pictures of his 3 injuries. He is hoping he won't end up in the hospital any more times this year. He's almost averaging once every month!

Hospital Visit #1. I've posted this picture before back in January. This was the biggest injury he received when he tackled a guy on a bike trying to run from the police because he had a warrant. The guy ended up in jail and Jeremy ended up in the hospital with a big owie on his leg.

Hospital Visit #2. This happened in March. Jeremy was involved in a car accident at work. He was not driving and was not at fault. The airbags from under the dash deployed and wrapped around his calves at 200 MPH!  He had some pretty deep bruises on his shins and calves.  He said the next day it felt like someone hit his legs with golf clubs.

Hospital Visit #3. Last week, a woman who had just shoplifted (and was high on something) ran from Jeremy. He told her to come back. She wouldn't. So he had to grab her.  As he grabbed her, she bit him on the upper arm. They had a big fight and he ended up having to taze her. After he tazed her he managed to get her into cuffs.

At the hospital, the woman's blood was tested. Jeremy's blood was tested. THANKFULLY, the woman's blood came back clean for HIV and Hepatitis. They put Jeremy on antibiotics as a precaution for anything that might have been in her mouth.

I was really upset he got bit and could have potentially gotten a horrible disease. I was even MORE upset when I saw pictures people had taken of the incident. There were several young men standing around WATCHING Jeremy struggle with this woman. They stood there videotaping the whole thing and taking pictures while Jeremy was trying not to get severely injured by this woman. Why didn't they try to help? Or ask him if there was anything they could do? Or call 911? No one called. When Jeremy's in a tussle like that, he can't get on his radio to call for help so his backup has no idea what's going on. I 'm still fuming mad about this. I guess it's more important for people to videotape incidences like this than it is to try to help out a police officer. Disgusting.

End of the Year Survey
