Dinner Party

Now that Brian and Karen are back in the area, they threw a dinner party for the whole family!

We also visited Grandma Pam for a bit. Jeremy did a few projects and the kids played outside. Elizabeth really liked the young horses!

AR Reader Board

Nathan wanted to to back to his old elementary school to have his picture taken with the updated AR Reader Points board in the library. He had the most AR points for his grade for 2nd, 4th, and 5th grade. Last year, he only missed being the highest AR points leader in the whole school by less than a point. He had 976 points and the other kid had 976.7.

New couches!!

We finally broke down and purchased a new living room set. We had had our old one since 2004 and the couches were white. I had learned a hard lesson with those. When Nathan was born 3 years later, the couches went from white to yellow/brown/stained really quickly. Yet, we kept them another 12 years because we figured we may as well let the kids destroy them! They were also very comfortable and Jeremy liked napping on them. We knew we would never find as comfortable couches again. 

We found this set at Walkers Furniture that I really liked. Brown couches are apparently popular right now (it was most of what we saw)  and I am tired of brown since our whole house and neighborhood and surrounding hills are brown! To see a pretty light blue really seemed fresh and light and homey to me so we got it! We did not get the ottoman that goes with it, but got the rest of the set. We all know Pippa would steal the ottoman anyway.  They are also not as comfortable as our old couches, so we got Jeremy a recliner that should suffice for his comfort needs. 

September Sunsets, Playtime, and Doodles

The new elementary school just opened this year in our neighborhood. Elizabeth doesn't attend this school, but she does like playing on their new toys!! 

We had some pretty September sunset. 

When I go on my walks, I laugh every time this vicious animal jumps up on the fence and barks at me. This doodle thinks they are so scary, but really they are too cute!!
