Halloween Activities

Here are a few of the Halloween activities the kids were involved in.

For the first time since preschool, Elizabeth was able to wear her Halloween costume to school! She was THRILLED. Her elementary principal didn't allow it and we never understood why since kids get so thrilled with their costumes! Her middle school principal has not problem with it. Nathan's middle school principal has no problems with it either.  Elizabeth was dressed as a Hufflepuff girl.

Elizabeth carved a few pumpkins.

The kids set up the front porch in preparation for trick r treaters!

Carmichael Cross Country Race

Final results: Nathan got 20th out of 96th for 8th grade boys. He ran 13:40 for 2.14 miles. That's a 6:23 pace. This was his final race of the year.

Nathan's final cross country race was at Carmichael Middle School with the infamous hill. He had a PR today on his very last race!

Here is everyone lining up at the start.

Enterprise team getting ready to start. They had to run a little bit uphill to start!

Just before the start.

We took pictures from a few locations on the course.

He ran the whole hill! It barely slowed him down.

Coming in to the finish line.

He's done for the year!

Auntie Laura came to this race!

Leslie Groves Cross Country meet

Final Results. Nathan got 10th out of 56 runners in the 8th grade. His time for 2 miles was 13:04.

Nathan's next cross country race was at Leslie Groves park. All the grandparents were at this one!

3 generations of cross country runners: 2 grandfathers, 2 parents, and now Nathan!

Nathan and all the grandparents.

The start! It was getting pretty dark by this point. Again, they ran all the 7th and 8th grade boys together and they ran into separate chutes at the finish line.

This race was a bit easier to take pictures. There were a few locations.

Nathan does a great job at setting a steady pace and sticking with it throughout the race.

Coming into the finish line!

Hermiston Cross Country Meet

Final result: Nathan got 10 out of 48 for 8th grade boys. His time was 13:43 for 2 miles.

The next cross country meet was in Hermiston and started at 5:00. Again, they ran all the boys together and then the 7th grade and 8th grade ran through different chutes at the end. Nathan said he had a sideache during this race from drinking too much water so he ran a bit slower than he wanted. He still did great!

Here's the team before the race.

The starting line!

Here's the start!

Nathan is peeking through with the red jersey.

Running around the perimeter.

They made a loop around some back baseball fields

Before they came into the final stretch, the sprinklers turned on. They all got soaked.

Coming in to the 8th grade chute. I think it's neat Jeremy and Papa and Gram are in the picture. I was on the other side.

A visit to Brewster

We made a day trip up to Brewster to visit Carolyn and family at their cabin. The kids had a lot of fun shooting.

A pretty view on our travels.

Everyone did quite a lot of shooting. They shot at targets and clay pigeons.

Elizabeth practicing her target shooting. She had the best shot that was nearest the middle!

Clay pigeon shooting.
