Trip Day 2-Universal Studios

We went to Universal! The parking lot was humungous and it took a long time just to WALK into the park.

This was when we walked into "London" and Diagon Alley.

We stopped at the Knight Bus!

The secret entrance to Diagon Alley!

Meandering the street of Diagon Alley. Gringotts ahead! We headed for that ride first. Laura and I sat out as we do not do well with motionsickness.

Weasley's!!! Lots of fun things to buy in here!

This part of Universal was a lot cooler than the rest. Somehow they were pumping a lot of cold air in so it wasn't as uncomfortable as elsewhere.

Inside Gringotts. The goblins looked so real!

In line for the ride. As we descended on the elevator, it got darker and I couldn't take pictures before everyone got on the "Escape from Gringotts" ride. Aunt Laura had been SUPER nice and bought the kids express passes so they didn't have to wait in lines nearly as long as they would have otherwise.

The dragon breathed fire!

The bookstore!

We rode the Hogwarts Express to the other side of the park. That was a neat little trip! It felt like we were really there and Dementors stopped by too!

The train took us right to Hogsmeade! We had already visited Hogsmeade while in California and this was pretty much a carbon copy. Auntie Laura enjoyed seeing it all though! The kids did the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride again. The ride for Hagrid's Motorbike was just too long. It was one of the few rides the express pass did not work for.

We also spent a lot of time in Jurassic Park land. Nathan LOVED the huge rollercoaster there and rode it a few times. It was called VelociCoaster.

The day was VERY hot. We did our best to find AC when we could. Shade helped a little but not as much as usual at home.

We stayed all the way until closing time to get our money's worth as tickets were so expensive. I took this picture in Hogsmeade at sunset. It was a pretty little fake village!
