Trip Day 4- Beach Day, More KSC, and a Launch!!!

Today was a beach day for the girls. Laura rented the chairs and umbrella and we went down in the morning.

Elizabeth did some serious sunblocking and then played in the water and sand.

It got really hot out even with the water.

Sometimes we just sat in the water to cool off.

Around lunch, it was just too hot even at the BEACH so Elizabeth took a dip in the pool and we headed inside to eat lunch and do laundry.

While we were at the beach, the boys went back to KSC to see anything we missed yesterday. They also went on the "Explore Bus Tour" where they got to go out to the launch pads. Nathan thought that was really cool.

Notice Nathan's special pass? It got them closer to the Assembly.

When the boys got back for dinner, we headed down to the beach again just as the sun was setting. It was cooler but the water was still nice and warm. Someone had given Elizabeth a free boogie board so they had fun trying to ride the waves.

Jeremy went out with them too.

After playing at the beach awhile, we headed back to clean up and THEN, we got to go do something quite amazing. As luck would have it, Space X just happened to being a launch on the night we were only 5 miles away from view!! We drove about 10 minutes north to Jetty Park and waited for the launch. It was so cool to watch the launchpad light up and then watch as the Falcon 9 lifted off carrying Starlink up into space. The rumble sounded so neat. It was a really amazing experience and we still can't believe we watched something launch into space!!! We watched until it disappeared and then headed back to the hotel. I still can't believe we happened to see a launch!

Pictures don't do this justice. The bright light is the rocket launching.
