Trip Day 1-Fly to Orlando

We had a very early morning. Our flight on Alaska left at 7:55. We arrived at Jiffy Parking lot at 5:30. We got on their van and got to the airport at 5:45. I had secured a spot for us using spotsaver.com for security for 6:00. They have that now at the airport! Scheduled times for security! It was great. Our scheduled time was 6:00 and they let you show up 15 minutes before to 15 minutes after that time. So we did security at 5:55 and were through by 6:05. Then, we just sat around until 7:30 when we boarded the plane.

We were lucky to be sitting on the right side of the plane (right side this time) to see the views of the mountains! There was Mt. Rainier! You could also see Adams, St. Helens and Hood.

We stared at the mountain as long as we could and enjoyed a very uneventful 5 hour 30 minute flight to Orlando. We hit a few bumpy spots just before landing in Orlando as thunderstorms were passing through. We didn't check any luggage so we landed and went straight to Alamo Rent a Car where I had reserved a contactless reservation. So we jumped in our Chrysler Pacifica Minivan with Nevada plates and headed off to Walmart! We got a cooler and stocked up on food and other things we would use for 2 weeks. Then, we went to the Best Western Plus Universal Inn which was like 5 minutes from Universal Studios so we would be ready to go in the morning!  We were all so tired from getting up at 4:45 AM that I don't think anyone had jetlag! We were able to go to bed at 10:00 even though our bodies felt like it was 7:00.
