Trip Day 5: Philadelphia

We spent Saturday in Philadelphia. Luckily, it wasn't too warm at all! It was warm, but with cloud cover, it was pretty comfortable and no one complained about heat. Here's a bunch of pictures from our day there.

Constitution Hall. They drafted the constitution here!

Liberty Bell

US Mint. We took a tour. It was really neat! You saw the factory floor and step by step how they made the coins. We were not allowed to take pictures inside so this is all we got the document our visit.

Philadelphia Museum of Art. We didn't visit inside.

View of the city from the Philadelphia Museum of Art. There are a lot of steps. The stairs are famous because in the movie Rocky, Rocky ran up the stairs and pumped his arms. Everyone was doing it and laughing.

Philadelphia City Hall

Rocky Statue

I somehow photobombed Jeremy's picture here. It made me laugh.

Liberty Bell. Elizabeth was not allowed to touch or ring this one. They did send out 50 replica Liberty Bells to all 50 states, so she will get a chance to ring a replica later in our trip!

Air touching the bell.

The Rocky Pose

This alley of old houses is the oldest continuously occupied street in the United States. Pictures are below.

We visited Benjamin Franklin's grave.

Ben Franklin's gravesite. You had to pay to go in the Cemetery so we did not. Luckily, his grave was right next to the sidewalk so easy to see.

Betsy Ross's house! She sewed the first flag here.

Here are the pictures of the oldest continuously occupied street in the country. I can't imagine living there now. People just walking up and down your street all day and night.

Homes built in the early 1700's.

Nathan met Benjamin Franklin.

The famous LOVE sign in downtown Philadelphia.

Waiting in line to see the Liberty Bell. Luckily, the line moved very quickly and waited about 15 minutes.

This was the site of the first Supreme Court while the capitol was being built in D.C.  They only had 5 judges then so you only see that many seats.

You can tell it was the end of the day. E was getting tired.

Doods in Philadelphia

Here's a constitution signer you never knew existed!

Leaving the Philadelphia Visitor's center for the parking garage. It was very pretty!
