Museum of Flight

We made a stop at the Museum of Flight! Nathan was most excited about this as he loves airplanes and space. 

Nathan enjoyed sitting in all the planes. 

Elizabeth wasn't quite as impressed. 

In the kids area, they had a little helicopter that was fun.

The Museum of Flight in Seattle didn't get a Space Shuttle, but they got the Space Shuttle trainer. This big thing is a kind of replica of a Space Shuttle. All the astronauts in the shuttle program trained in this replica.

It's amazing how huge it was!

There were some neat planes at the Airpark. Here is a Concorde permanently parked. It's funny because both Jeremy and I watched this plane's final flight into Seattle in 2003. I watched out of my window at my school in Tukwila and Jeremy was stuck in traffic and watched it land.

The first of many glass elevators. There was one in the museum and even one outside the museum. We had to ride in both. These elevators were a huge hit. 

We also went inside and toured the first jet Air Force One. It was the last stop of the day and I didn't get any pictures inside as a little person was getting tired and cranky and we rushed through. Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, and Ford used this plane. Jeremy's uncle actually worked on this plane as an electrician. 

A Trip to Seattle

We took a trip to Seattle. I took way too many pictures so I'll post them a little at a time when I have time!

Our first stop was a picnic at the Indian John rest area. The kids loved having a picnic! I packed a lot of snacks and treats (such as Capri Suns and chips) that they only get on special occasions so they were thrilled. 

They did ok in the car-about what we expected. Some fighting over the space in the middle and trying to get on the other's nerves, not nearly enough sleeping, but a lot of playing. Both kids are obsessed with these little Swiper stuffed animals. Elizabeth got one for her birthday and they both had so much fun playing with it, that we got Nathan one too. The twin Swipers played together a lot in the car! 

Packing

We're going on vacation today and I just had to write down a cute Elizabeth story so I don't forget it.

Yesterday, Jeremy told her that we needed to start packing and told her she needed 3 days worth of clothes. She ran off to her room and was very quiet for a while. I could hear her talking (quietly...) to herself.

When I went in, she had perfectly folded stacks of shorts and t-shirts. I'm not kidding. She is a natural at folding clothes! She's better than me at folding and she's 3! She had also put out a big handful of undies "in case I have any leaks." And she had her overnight pullups in a neat pile.

It was just the cutest thing.

Just Playing Around Outside

Nathan found an old tripod and pretends he's taking pictures. 

Elizabeth likes to paint. We just roll out this big roll of paper and let them do whatever they want on there!

Corn Crunchers

It's corn season! Nathan would eat corn all day if I let him. 

Next up will be cantaloupes. Oh dear. 

Construction Fan

Well, they brought out the crane to haul up the tresses today on the house next door. Nathan actually pulled a chair outside to watch. He was ecstatic. 

Oh, and of course he took pictures to document the progress. I took a picture of him taking a picture. 

Eating lunch and watching construction

The house next door is currently being built. Nathan watches all day long. They usually wake him up in the morning around 6:30  (due to noise). He sits in his pajamas and watches out his window. He gets out his camera and takes pictures. Today, he said he had to make sure to eat his lunch outside so he wouldn't miss out on any construction. 

The workers think it's really cute. They've told me how they think it's great he takes pictures and they get a kick out of how excited he is. 

Nathan is sure going to know all of the steps it takes to build a house! We also have a chart that we update every day with the progress being made. He makes sure to tell me everything and then predicts what he thinks will happen the next day. 

There are still 6 more houses that will be built on our street. Nathan said he is pretty sure he will be ready to be the construction manager after he watches 2 more houses get built.
