Valentine's Snowstorm

We had a school closure on Valentine's Day due to a snowstorm. It gave us a 4 day weekend. Luckily, it was the only school day we missed all year due to snow. It took away our 4 day May Memorial Day weekend. We just got the 4 day weekend in February instead.

Elizabeth at 15

Elizabeth is 15! She's 120 pounds and is 5'5" tall.

She usually goes to sleep around 10:00 and her alarm wakes her at 6:00. She gets a chauffer drive to school every morning courtesy of her brother! They leave at 7:10 and get to school around 7:30. The final bell to start school rings at 7:55.

Her favorite foods are yellow rice, chicken, shrimp, salmon, and donuts.

She's a 9th grader! Her favorite classes are biology and french. Her least favorite classes are orchestra and algebra. Her high school career has been a success so far. She's made a lot of new friends and does very well in all her classes.  Her goal is to get straight A's. She managed to do that this school year!

For school activities, she ran JV cross country in the fall. Her shins really bothered her as usual. We started her in PT to hopefully help with that problem. She's started taping them which helps some but is annoying to do. She also wears the sleeves which helps.

She bowled for a winter sport. She'd never bowled before but her friend was on the team so she joined up to hang out with her friend.

In spring, she played JV tennis. She loved tennis. The JV team all play doubles tennis. She was matched up with a partner that she really liked. They played really well together and they finished their season 8-2. (I am writing this way after her birthday). She is planning to take more tennis lessons over the summer to help her improve. She might not bowl next winter as it wasn't her favorite sport and instead will take more tennis lessons over the winter.

Her eczema has been problematic. Her neck especially has been causing her a lot of issues with itching. We did some skin testing at the dermatologist for dyes/metals/chemicals. She's sensitive to about all of them. Just recently, we skin tested her for environmental allergies and she's allergic to everything in the environment except a couple of molds. She's going to start allergy shots this summer. Hopefully that will help with her oral allergy syndrome and her eczema.  Her food allergies remain the same. Peanuts, sunflower seeds, and some tree nuts.

Her favorite books now are the Shatter Me series. She read a lot of books this past school year. Since January, she'd read 33 books. I am writing this blog in June.

She likes to play Minecraft with her friends and the Sims alone.  Her favorite toys are squishmellows. They now have a net in her room.  Her favorite color is green. Charlotte is her favorite friend to hang out with.

She loves wearing earrings and doing cute things to her hair.

She got her learner's permit on May 12! She started driving school the next week. Driving is 15 classes at 2 hours each for a total of 30 hours. She will also need to do 6 one hour drives with the driving instructor and then 1 drive with the instructor that is the state test. Once she passes all those, we just have to go to the DOL to get her license. She will finish her classroom instruction in June and start her drives hopefully in August or Sept. Jeremy has been great about taking her out for drives and teaching her. She's doing very well!

Elizabeth is 15!

Elizabeth turned 15! Here are the photos we took the day she turned 15. She had a party with her friends a few days later.

She was born at 7:01 so we took the photo then.

Last Day of School

School is over for the summer! 11th and 9th grade are done! We have a SENIOR now!
