Last Day of School

School is over for the summer! 11th and 9th grade are done! We have a SENIOR now! 

 

Elizabeth's Last Orchestra Concert

Elizabeth had the last orchestra concert of the year and her viola career. She wasn't having fun playing anymore so has decided this is her last year of orchestra. For the last concert, they mixed the orchestra with some of the band to make a symphony. That was a crowded stage! There were about 120 kids up there. I thought they sounded great. They played songs from the How to Train Your Dragon soundtrack and some Tchaikovsky. Papa Ray came to watch her finale!

MCC Championships at Hanford

 Surprise! 

Nathan had one more race at the MCC Championships! 

He ended up making the top 18 in the 3200 after all. Enough boys ahead of him dropped to focus on either the 1600 or the 800 that Nathan snuck in!

He was practically the last race of the night so it was nearly dark. The pictures aren't great. Luckily the videoes are clear. 

However, he did get a PR!!! 11:00 even. 

Silly Elizabeth

These are just some cute pictures of Elizabeth being funny. 

She wanted this LARGE squish from Costco. She did not get it. We do not have room for this. 

Plant ponytail. 

Sleeping on top of lockers in the locker room. She had tennis practice from 2:30-4. Nathan had track practice from 3:00-4:30 or 5:00. Sometimes (especially Mondays) she would have to wait for an hour after practice for him to drive her home. Most days was usually only 20-30 minutes. On her longs waits, she did homework in the locker room and apparently slept on the lockers! 

 

New Driver!

 Elizabeth got her Learner's Permit and started driving school!  She has to do 30 hours of classroom time. She'll go to 15 classes that are 2 hours each. On the last class, she has to pass the school written test. Later she will have to pass the state written test. She will also have 6 one hour drives with a driving instructor. Then, her last drive, the driving instructor will give her the state test. She also has to do 50 hours of driving at home with a parent. 

Richland Twilight

Nathan's last meet of the year was the Richland Twilight. Only the top 18 in the district move on to districts in each event. He was not top 18 in the 1600. He ran the 1600 and threw the discus. He ran his best 1600 time of the year of a 5:04. His knees are finally better and now the season is over. 

 

Track Meet @ Walla Walla

 Nathan had a track meet in Walla Walla. It's the only meet of his I missed this year as I didn't feel like making the job that day. No pictures. Poor guy didn't get home until nearly 11:30! Pole vault takes a long time and the bus obviously can't leave until all the events are done. 

He did get a PR in the 3200 that day and threw the discus.
