Rhode Island State House


We had visited the state houses in Maine and Massachusetts so we decided to check out the one in Rhode Island too. This time, we actually took a tour. It was a VERY hot day. Factoring in the humidity, it was 100 and there was no air conditioning in the building. We thought the tour would be about 20 minutes, but it was an hour so everyone was hot and thirsty. There were no drinking fountains inside. 



They had some cannons from the Civil War which Nathan found interesting. They had one from Bull Run and one from Gettysburg.

Here is the Royal Charter from 1663 that Roger Williams got from the King of England. It was in the only air conditioned room in the building.
