This was our last day of our trip before we flew home. We started the day in Louisville, KY. On our way to Nashville, we stopped in Elizabethtown, Kentucky! That was a fun little stop.
Driving through Kentucky, they had lots of pretty looking fences along the highway.
We stopped at Walmart in White House, TN. We couldn't find the White House, but Nathan DID find his hot dog!
Our next stop was Nashville. We stopped at Centennial Park for lunch and the park had an exact replica of the Parthenon! That seemed very random. It was built in 1897 for a Centennial Exposition. There is an art museum inside which we did not pay to go see.
The park was very pretty. We walked around a bit and had our sandwiches for lunch there.
We found a bench dedicated to Taylor Swift since I guess she probably started her career in Nashville. Of course, Elizabeth and I had to have our picture taken sitting on Taylor's bench. Taylor has such catchy and fun songs!
We then visited the state capital building. They had one of the 50 Liberty Bell replicas. This one was outside AND ringable!!! Elizabeth was so excited so she rang the bell.
Inside the state house.
A cool staircase in the capital.
We drove by the County Music Museum.
Then, we drove out to the Grand Old Oprey to see what that was all about and took pictures with the big guitars. The tours were expensive and we aren't that huge of country music fans so we did not go inside except to use the bathroom.
Listen to the bell ring!
We got to our hotel that evening and packed up to head home VERY early the next morning. We arrived to drop off the rental car at 5:30 AM.
A closet in our room. I hoped it was a shrinking machine so I put Nathan in. Nope. He came out the same size.
