Cliff Walk

We drove from Providence down to Newport. It was the end of a hot day and the next day was also supposed to be super hot.

We decided to do the Cliff Walk that evening while it was nice and cool so we wouldn't have the sun and humidity beating down on us the next day. It was so lovely!

The Cliff Walk is a 3 mile trail along the edge of Newport overlooking the Atlantic. While walking along, you also get to see all the Newport mansions.

I had always wanted to do the Cliff Walk so I was very glad we finally had the chance. It was very beautiful!

The 40 steps. This was how the servants in the big mansions got down to the beach.

Many of the old mansions now make up Salve Regina University.

Another mansion that is now part of the university.

The Breakers. This was the home of the Vanderbilts. We would tour it the next morning.

The Breakers

You could see many mansions along the trail.

Eventually, the trail turned into just large boulders. Since we were there right as the sun was setting we did not walk any further and just turned around.
