Today, we took a trolley tour of Savannah! We were there right when it opened hoping to beat the heat. Well, it was pleasant until about 10:00 and then it got steamy and hot. Being in the open air trolleys wasn't so bad as the wind would blow through and keep us a bit cooler. It was a beautiful tour! We listened to the tour guides tell the history of different parts of the city. We could get on and off whenver we wanted if we wanted a close look at something. The tour was called "The Old Savannah" tour and the busses were white.
We liked all the little park squares in the city!
Sherman's headquarters.
Forsyth Park. We stopped here first when it was still a little cool outside and walked around. Very pretty!
This was one of the oldest oaks in Savannah.
Pretty Cathedral
We walked along the Savannah River.
It was very hard to walk along the very old cobblestone streets.
Here's what the trolley looked like.
A pretty tree with the competing trolley company.
Our hotel in midtown Savannah had a huge globe nearby.
After dinner, we drove out to Bonaventure Cemetery. It was very peaceful. It was very hot out though, so we were lucky we were in the car. When we did open windows, it was very steamy outside.
When we got back to our hotel that night, there was a HUGE thunder and lightning storm will pouring down rain. Luckily, the power stayed on where we were and it caused no ill effects to our trip.
