We set out on another trip! We wanted to go to a family reunion and get a few more states to add to our travel map.
We left the day after school got out so we could make it to the family reunion on time. Our first drive was about 5.5 hours to Missoula. We left after lunch and drive straight there with just a few stops. Montana was exceptionally green and beautiful this time of year.
Stopping for gas in Idaho. Gas was only $5.05 here just about the border. At home, it had been the highest we'd ever seen it at $5.29. (As I blog this a month later, gas is thankfully down to $4.73 a gallon. We hope it continues to go down!)
This was Lake Coeur d'Alene.
Beautiful green everywhere!
Our hotel was the Best Western Plus Grant Creek Inn in Missoula. It was the nicest Best Western we had been too. The breakfast was better than normal Best Western Plus breakfasts too! It just had extra things. That was neat.
Nathan eating leftovers that we brought from home. I try to cook a big dish for him and bring at least 2-3 "home cooked" meals for him on these road trips if I can. It can't be done on plane trips. After we run out of home cooked meals, his meals usually are either 1. Rotisserie chickens from Walmart, 2. Frozen Tyson chicken nuggets or burritos, 3. Can of Dinty More soup, or 4. Hormel meals. He doesn't care for the Hormel meals but on plane trips that's sometimes all we've got for him since he can't eat at restaurants.
Taking a nice walk outside our hotel.
On our first day, we saw 31 different state license plates! This was diminishing returns though. Every day, we saw less and less. At the end, we were still missing Rhode Island and New Hampshire.
