Halloween

Elizabeth was an angel for Halloween this year. She went trick r treating over in her friend's neighborhood. Her friend was dressed as the devil. It rained on them a bit and was chilly.
Nathan was a Turkeyhead. He didn't trick r treat. He passed out candy.

Fall Colors

The fall colors looked so pretty in our yard this year!

The hydrangeas turned a very interesting deep pink.

This one turned almost a deep purple.

Nathan's Last Cross Country Meet-MCC Championships Lawrence Scott Park 10/20/22

Nathan had his very last meet of his 9th grade cross country season! This was the day after Elizabeth's last meet. The air quality at Leslie Groves Park was again in the orange level but Kennewick was in the yellow. Therefore, the meet again got changed from Richland to Kennewick. It was the EXACT same course as last week. This time, Nathan knew where the tree roots were that tripped him up last time.
Nathan ran in the JV race.
This was the Mid Columbia team championships so the teams were pretty local. The teams were Hanford, Richland, Kamiakin, Kennewick, Southridge, Pasco, Chiawana, Hermiston and Walla Walla.
They ran all the boys JV in one big race. For varsity, they ran the 4A and 3A separately.
Nathan got 26th out of 168 runners. His time was 18:36 and that was a PR again for him at 3 miles.
Of the Hanford JV runners, he placed 5th out of 32.
The top 9 varsity boys will go on to Regionals after this next weekend. If they make it into the top 3 teams, they will get to run at state.

Warm up stretches.

Practicing starts at the start line right before the race.

Just before the race began.

Nathan coming around on one of this laps.

Sprint for the finish. When he and the kid next to him turned the corner, they nearly both fell because they crashed into each other.

His friend Sarah made him this sign! It started to rain shortly after this, so I sprinted to the van to save the sign.

The rest of these pictures were taken by another parent. Here's the start line.

Nathan coming in to the finish line. I think it's funny I'm in the back taking a picture.

More of his friends racing for the finish.

These pictures are from the varsity race later on. Luckily, the rain had stopped by then. It mostly rained during the girls races.

JV debrief after the race. I think it's funny Nathan is eating a sandwich.

Elizabeth's last cross country meet of 7th grade-Libby Middle School 10/19/22

Elizabeth had her second and final cross country meet today! It was supposed to be at Leslie Groves Park. The Hanford cross country team was supposed to come down and recruit 8th graders. However, the air quality at Leslie Groves was in the orange range (100-150) and kids aren't allowed to exercise outside in that. They moved the meet to Libby where it was in the yellow range (50-100). We are lucky we are not the west side right now. They are getting the hazardous air. The forest fires right now are on the west side of the cascades so the smoke is settling down into the Puget Sound and some is escaping over here as well. Not too much, but thankfully we're decent.  So at least we still got to run.

Getting her sticker before the race.

Team antics at the starting line.

The 7th grade girls team (missing 2 who were still getting their stickers).

Starting line!  This race is the kind where you see the kids at the beginning and then not again until the end.

Elizabeth coming into the finish line.

She ran a 19:29 for 2 miles and was 42 out of 62 girls. Royal City was there! Plus all the Richland and Pasco teams and a few schools from Oregon.

I watched the boys 7th grade team line up.

And off they go!

Elizabeth had her snow cone that Gram bought for her and then settled into hang out with her friends. Gram, Papa, and Auntie Laura were all there. Nathan finished practice early that day so a teammate's Mom brought him home and then he biked down to Libby to recruit anyway!

Bonfire

Jeremy and Nathan went up to Ellensburg for a bonfire. Elizabeth was really sick and I stayed home with her. Jeremy took a few photos. Nath...
