We did not have to drive far between Bryce Canyon and Zion. We were at Zion in no time! Again, we saw more interesting rocks! Elizabeth was thrilled!
These rocks were called "Checkerboard" Mesa. I guess they look kind of like a checkerboard.
The kids and Jeremy scrambled around on them.
We then drove awhile through some interesting rocks. Before we got to the Zion tunnel we found a parking spot so we could hike the "Canyon Overlook Trail." It was a very busy trail but led to a great view at the end!
There were some little caves along the way.
The view at the end was spectacular! You could look down and see the switchback roads that we would soon be driving through to get to the rest of the park.
Then, we drove through the tunnel (it was a long one!) We drove through some pretty rocks.
Up above that arch in the rocks is where we had stood before to see the view of the valley!
More pretty rocks.
We got to the hotel and Elizabeth spent a few hours in the pool while we did some laundry. It was 86 that day so she had a nice time.
Hanging out on our hotel balcony.
