Nathan League Meet #2 at Hanford-1600 PR!

Nathan had a league meet with Kamiakin and Kennewick. He ran both the 1600 and 3200 and threw the discus.

He got a HUGE PR in the 1600!!! He ran a 5:01. He was ecstatic and so were we. When the 3200 came around, his legs were dead after that effort in the 1600. He ran a 12:02. After this effort, on shaking legs, he went and threw the discus. He was the very last one to throw. He made it over just before they were going to close up and be done!

Starting directions for 1600.

1600 lineup

Nathan during the 1600. I could tell he was definitely moving faster than usual.

Finish line for his 5:01!

Not long after, preparing for starting the 3200.

Line up for 3200.

3200 start.

I took pictures when he kept coming around 8 times.

After the 3200, he headed over to discus and threw 68 feet.

My friend has a much better camera and takes photos from inside the track so hers are very good! Here was a photo from his 1600.

I think it's funny I'm in the background of this photo smiling at him.

a 12:02 finish that was hard fought due to how tired he was.

Elizabeth Meet at Fran Rish

Elizabeth had a meet at Fran Rish. It was LONG! It lasted until about 9 pm. She ran the 400, threw the discus, and did the SMR Relay. She ran the 200 for her part of the relay. The pictures posted backwards again.  Her 400 was 1:16, SMR was 2:17 and discuss was 45 feet, 11 inches.

Nathan League Meet at Edgar Brown Stadium in Pasco League Meet #1

Nathan ran at a league meet against Chiawana and Hermiston. He ran the 1600 in 5:13. Then, for a little extra training, he ran the 200 for the first time ever. He ran it in 27 seconds. He had signed up for discus but this meet was running VERY long so he scratched around 8:30 and came home.

Eclipse

We had another eclipse. Where we live, we didn't get the full one like we did several years ago. We got a partial one this time. It happened right during lunch recess at school. The district said we had to have inside recess because they didn't want kids trying to look at the sun. That was new! My coworker brought some glasses and we all took turns having a peek at the sun. It looked like a chunk had been taken out and the chunk slowly moved around the sun. The kids didn't get to see it at all since they were inside and not allowed outside during the eclipse time. Jeremy could have looked but didn't have the glasses.

Davis Invite 4/6

Nathan got invited to run the 1600 at the Davis Invite in Yakima over Spring Break. He ran in the freshmen/sophomore race. He ran a 5:21 and got 4th out of 15 in the race. This race showed his splits every lap. It was really neat!

Splits: 1:18, 1:23, 1:23, 1:15

Nathan had some fans! Uncle Brian and Aunt Karen and cousins came to watch his race. They had never seen him run before. Grandma Pam and Papa Norm and Gram came too.

The cheering squad.

Figuring out where to line up.

Nathan was ranked 5th in the race and ended up finishing 4th.

The times came up really quickly!

Spring Break Observation: April 2, 2014 vs April 2, 2024

We are on Spring Break and my memories popped up with a picture from exactly 10 years ago. We aren't traveling this year and since it was 10 years exactly, I dragged the kids down to the park to take the exact same picture in the exact same spot.   Nothing much has changed other than the kids are much taller! I had to stand back further to take the picture to get the river in the picture.

2024. 16 and 14 years old. 10th grade and 8th grade.

2014-6 and 4 years old. Kindergarten and preschool.

Here are some other photos I took today.  It was a VERY warm day at about 80 degrees.
