Nathan's 1st day of Kindergarten!

Today was Nathan's first day of kindergarten! He had a good lunch and we went to wait outside for the bus. We took a few pictures of course.

We're going to try to take a picture of him with this tree every year to see how he grows and how the tree grows!

He wanted a picture with this tree too.

Well, we waited for the bus for a few minutes and all of a sudden a bus comes by. It didn't even slow down or anything! We called the school and sure enough that was the bus Nathan was supposed to be on. We had no other choice but to drive him to school. While driving to school, we came across another kindergartner a few blocks up who also had the bus drive right by her! Weird!

Here we are at school now. Nathan gave us both hugs and kisses.

When it was time to go inside he just couldn't be brave anymore and started to cry. It took a few minutes but we managed to get him inside and I think he did just fine then.

However, the bus did bring him home! He said he had a great bus ride home and enjoyed talking with his new friend. He actually didn't want to get off the bus because he didn't want to leave her alone as she was the next block down.  She's the same girl who also had the bus zoom by her this morning.

Kindergarten!!

I registered Nathan for kindergarten today! Well, I picked up the registration packet anyway. It was so long I couldn't get it all done at the office. I'll have to bring it back in tomorrow.

Of course Nathan wanted to come. I started filling out the paperwork, but he was getting pretty impatient just sitting there in the office. He wanted to meet his teacher and see his classroom. I had to explain to him that that wouldn't happen for awhile! They'll be having something in April so he can go in and see classrooms and meet the teachers.

Due to bussing schedules and the location of the new house we're building, he will be in afternoon kindergarten. We were really hoping for morning due to Jeremy's schedule. Sadly, when Nathan starts kindergarten he won't see Jeremy for 5 days in a row.

Nathan will get on the bus for kindergarten just as Jeremy is waking up. And when Nathan gets home from kindergarten, Jeremy will already be gone. So basically, the 3 hours Jeremy is up and home are the 3 hours that kindergarten takes place!

Swing shift isn't a really great shift to be on when the kids are in school! Jeremy will be able to change shifts in January so he might shift to graveyard so he'll be waking up just as Nathan is coming home from kindergarten. That might work better. We will see!

Pippa's Ice Cream Party

Pippa had an ice cream party. However, the party had a sad ending. Pippa had turned 14 in June. The lifespan of a doodle her size is 12-14...
