Ferry to Long Island

We took the ferry from Connecticut to Long Island. It was a beautiful day! The ride was about 90 minutes. 

The ferry terminal was 2 minutes from our hotel. We were there quick!

I liked this lighthouse. It was the New London Harbor Light. 

There was a cute little lighthouse that looked like a schoolhouse to me. It was called the "Ledge Lighthouse" and there were tours available! I couldn't get a good picture, but it was red and looked like a schoolhouse. 

While on the ferry, another owl showed up with a letter to Hogwarts for Nathan. A worker on the ferry said the owl had dropped off the letter and he had spent time walking around looking for Nathan. 

We could see Long Island off in the distance nearly the whole way.

About to come in to dock! It was a really nice ferry ride. 

Nathan Hale Schoolhouse

We made our way to Connecticut! We drove to New London. The next morning, we were going to take the ferry from New London to Long Island.

Our only real tourist stop in Connecticut was the actual schoolhouse that Nathan Hale taught in in 1774-75. My Nathan is obsessed with the series "Nathan Hale's Hazardous Tales." 

My Nathan was very excited to see the actual school that Nathan Hale had taught in before he became a spy for George Washington. 

This wasn't the original location of the school. It had been somewhere else in Connecticut and they moved it here for tourism purposes. It was weird to see it in downdown New London! 

Eating our dinner in our hotel in New London. We always stay in places with microwaves and fridges since we can't eat at restaurants. Elizabeth was having a bowl of mac and cheese. Nathan was having a TV dinner type thing.
