Nathan qualified to run in the freshman/sophomore race at the Davis Invitational at Eisenhower High School in Yakima. The grandparents who lived near Yakima were very excited about this prospect! All grandparents were able to come and that was really neat. Nathan had some high expectations! He managed to PR in his 1600 and ran it in 5:16. He knocked about 8 seconds off his previous PR. It wasn't windy and was in the mid 50's so it was very nice running weather.
Official results
The pictures on here are all mixed around, but here he is coming in for the finish line.
Starting the race. He was warming up with the other Hanford runner.
Waiting for the race to start.
After the 1st lap.
We left Nathan at the meet (he had food at the meet I made for him, and can't eat easily at restaurants) and went and had Miners for a late lunch! We were quite stuffed.
I ran into my high school track coach! I had not seen him in 25 years but recognized him immediately when I saw him down on the field. I guess he's probably been coaching track the last 25 years.
A family photo
A Nathan centric photo.
Nathan watching the races with his teammate who run long distance.
All the grandparents. Quite an amazing picture!
