We have had a ridiculous amount of heat lately. We hit all time high records. I had never really seen heat much hotter than 112/113 around here and that was usually just a one day thing. Last week, here were our temperatures. Even the west side of the state was getting temperatures around 110!
6/27: 113
6/28: 115
6/29: 118
6/30: 115.
The first 2 week of July are all forecast to be 100-105. Are we going to have an entire month of temps over 100?
Last year, I think we hit 100 maybe once or so.
Also, if we have wildfire smoke, it doesn't usually hit until August. Today on July 3rd we are getting smoke moving in from Canada and it's currently 101 here. We always get their smoke. Is out entire July and August going to be ruined by smoke? We are really bummed out by this. This is the earliest (by a month) we've ever had smoke.
We never really had much smoke before about 5 years ago. We'd get a day or two here or there but it wasn't something that ruined weeks or months. The last several years, we've had weeks of awfulness. This year is shaping up to be the worst. It seems most of it is coming down from Canada. Last year, our really bad week was smoke from Oregon. I guess at least we never have to worry about actual fires here. It's just the smoke.
