Family visits

On our way home, we stopped to visit our favorite little cousin!

He enjoys his swing.

Mount Rainier National Park-Sunrise

The next morning, we drove from Packwood back to Mt. Rainier. This time, we were going to see the OTHER side of Mt Rainier called Sunrise. It was a different view of the mountain and instead of being on the mountain, you saw the mountain up close. It also was obviously the drier side of the mountain. We hiked along the Sourdough Ridge trail and headed west.

The views of Mount Rainier and the wildflowers were very pretty!

Elizabeth likes the marmots so she talked to this one.

Frozen Lake was neat. It had little icebergs!

The views of the White River and Mount Rainier were amazing!

The elevation was 6400 feet.

There was one part of the trail where you could hike on the snow down, or go on the rocks. I chose the rocks. Everyone else chose the snow.

We saw this view on the Silver Forest Trail.

Mount Rainier National Park-Paradise-Skyline Trail and Deadhorse Trail

After lunch, we decided to hike up the Skyline Trail. We didn't go the full way around (5 miles). The kids were tired and eventually we would maybe have hit too much snow. We walked up as far as we felt like it and then we took the Deadhorse trail the rest of the way.

Mt. Adams behind us. Sometimes you could see Mt. St. Helens too, but it is obviously shorter.

After our hiking we drove to see Reflection Lake.

Reflection Lake. We were going to try to see the Grove of the Patriarchs (big trees) but there was no parking.

These pictures are kind of backwards, but this last picture was from the beginning of the hike.  We drove down to Packwood to spend the night.

Bonfire

Jeremy and Nathan went up to Ellensburg for a bonfire. Elizabeth was really sick and I stayed home with her. Jeremy took a few photos. Nath...
