Red Sun in the Evening

Last night, Jeremy's squad had a get together. Jeremy played Cornhole with the guys and I chatted with the wives. The sun looked SO red with all the smoke in the air. I tried to take a picture of how neat it loked, but it just doesn't look good compared to real life. I have no idea what Jeremy is looking at in this picture.

You may be wondering...where are our children? Did we actually pay a babysitter for this outing? Are they on those toys there in the yard perhaps?

Well, they were there. They found a HUGE dirt pile on the other side of the yard and just ran for it the minute we walked into the backyard. The people were putting in a swimming pool and this is what happens when you dig out for a pool. Somehow, Nathan found a toy gun, and Elizabeth was making dirt slides and they had a fabulous time for like 2 hours. By the time we left, they walked around and made little poofs of dirt like Pigpen.

At one point, I saw Elizabeth had actually used her hands to create a little seat in the dirt so she could watch the activities. And yes, there are 2 more huge dirt piles beyond the fence for the new houses going in. They weren't interested in the toys of course. Just getting filthy and coughing and hacking with their lungs full of dirt and smoke. I felt like a great parent.

This picture was weird. Why does the sun look like that?
