Halloween Preview

Auntie Laura has done it once again!

Auntie Laura likes to make the kids' Halloween costumes. This year, Nathan said he wanted to be Pippa (Laura's dog). He is obsessed with Pippa. Sometimes, he will pretend he is Pippa all day long so this costume will be just PERFECT!
Elizabeth said she wanted to be a kitty.

Auntie Laura came with the costumes today. They were so excited!!

For Nathan's costume, Laura sewed a furry fabric onto a sweatsuit. Pippa is black and white so Laura did her best to make the colors on the costume match up to Pippa's colors. It took Laura and Gram something like 8 hours to sew all that fur onto the sweatsuit. We very much appreciate all the time they took to work on the costume!

Elizabeth wanted to be a calico kitty so Laura found this cute tutu that is black, yellow and white. Then, she found black mittens and sewed on paw pads.

Here are both kids' tails. I think I'm going to try to find them some collars to wear. Nathan said he would like a red one. I'm not sure how comfortable that will be so we will see.

Nathan's Jog-A-Thon

Nathan's school had their Jog-A-Thon Fundraiser today. It was great fun!

The kids ran around a 1/4 loop. Every time they came around, a parent helper would mark off that they did a lap (and they would get drinks). They ran for an hour. At the end of the hour, the ladies in charge counted to see which kids ran the most laps and they got a prize.

Nathan just kept going  the whole hour. He stopped for drinks a few times, but just kept going! If we had known, we wouldn't have dressed the poor kid in a long sleeve shirt and pants this morning! He was hot!

He said he liked to walk the shady part on every lap to take a little break and get cool.

Jeremy and Elizabeth (and some other Moms) helped circle the laps on the kids' lap cards.

Here is Nathan's kindergarten class after the run. Nathan managed to run 14 laps (3 1/2 miles) and tied with another boy in his class for running the most laps. Since he ran the most laps, he got a fun prize!

The kids all got a ribbon.

The class was supposed to make a straight line, but somehow made an L shape instead.

Heading back to class after his run!

A Perfect Fall Day

Today was a PERFECT fall day. It couldn't have been any nicer. 65 degrees, all sunny and no wind!!

We spent the late afternoon at the park!

They love to climb!

They love to swing!

Jeremy thought I looked contemplative.

A little pink blur on a bike.

An adorable kindergartner. Jeremy ended up having to walk his bike home due to puncture vines.

I love to squeeze him.

Walking home into the beautiful fall sun!!

Fruit Angels

We were outside playing in the yard today when Elizabeth noticed some old tomatoes that had fallen off the plants.

She said, "Uh-oh. Those are dead. I think the fruit angels will come get them now."

I wonder where she came up with fruit angels?

Minnie Mouse

Elizabeth is in a big dress up phase.

She loves this Minnie Mouse dress. Then, she puts on her crown, beads and fancy black shoes.

She would wear this dress all day.

Pippa's Ice Cream Party

Pippa had an ice cream party. However, the party had a sad ending. Pippa had turned 14 in June. The lifespan of a doodle her size is 12-14...
