Battle for the 509

The top boys 14 ran at the Battle of the 509 invite up near Airway Heights at the Polo Grounds. The meet was humongous. The girls team did not have a meet that day.  The rest of the boys team ran Big Cross in Pasco. This was good as Elizabeth was going to the Richland High School homecoming with a group of her friends that night. Nathan had a rush of a situation though. He was going to the Delta Homecoming that night so ended up being a little late due to the meet. Here are some pictures. Not in order. The top 7 ran the varsity race. Nathan ran the JV race with the next 7 Hanford boys.

Aunt Laura and I met in Ritzville and drove the rest of the way together. Papa and Gram were there too but we didn't get a picture.

The horses in the stables had quite an exciting day! It's not every day that hundreds of kids thunder by their homes. They watched with quite interest. I'm sure they would have loved to be out there running with them!
