The Tall Ships sailed up the Columbia to Pasco! They're docked for the week. We headed down today for a tour. The ships are the Lady Washington and the Hawaiian Chieftain.
Here are Jeremy and the kids headed to the ships!
Family Photo in front of the ships.
The Lady Washington. This is an exact replica of the original Lady Washington that was built in the 1780's. The original Lady Washington was the first American vessel to make landfall on the west coast of North America. It was also the first American vessel to visit Japan and Hawaii!
The Hawiian Chieftain was built and based off of early colonial passenger ships. It was built in Hawaii and designed to be a cargo ship.

Nathan really wanted to go down into the crew quarters, but we weren't allowed.

We got to go under the deck on the Hawaiian Chieftain. Here is Nathan in the Captain's Quarters.
Elizabeth climbing the ladder.
Nathan waiting to steer the ship!
They tried to steer.
We watched a sailor climb "way up high."
I asked Nathan what his favorite part of the visit was. He said.
1. The Snowcone (they ate snowcones while we waited in line).
2. The cannons on the ships
3. Going under the deck on the Hawaiian Chieftain
4. Looking at the kitchen on the Hawaiian Chieftain
I then asked Elizabeth and she said the exact same thing. Shocking.
