Cherry Freezing

We had a lot of cherries to freeze. Luckily, our neighbor had this amazing cherry pitter!! 6 at once! The kids loved running the pitter. 

They had a  good system of washing, pitting and then placing the cherries on a tray to freeze. 

Cherry Picking

We love cherries. Papa Norm and Gram have a neighbor who didn't pick a section of their cherries this year because there just wasn't enough there. However, there was enough for us! The kids and I drove up for the day to pick cherries!

We ended up picking 50 pounds!! We left some with Papa and Gram and Aunt Laura. We took the rest home. We ate what we could and froze the rest! 

Elizabeth wanted to learn to knit so Gram taught her some basics.  We stayed outside all day and wore masks when sitting close. 

The kids did a little bit of paddling around in the kayak's on the neighbor's pond. 

We let them paddle home in the canal.

We had it all done pretty quickly!

Elizabeth and I like to take our bike rides in the evenings. 

It was a hot evening! 

We rode to the end of the hill and Elizabeth pointed across and said "There's Gram's across those hills!" 

Slip and Slide

The kids don't get a pool this summer, so we got a lame slip and slide. The first one I got already broke. Here is the second one and the fun they had for a few hours before it broke. It's going to be a long summer. 

Straight out of 1987

Elizabeth likes to put her hair in braids while her hair is wet. Then, she sleeps on it and it comes out looking like this. She loves it. I remember doing the exact same when I was her age!! 

She also likes to do this hairstyle! It's cute! 

Police Officer Hugs

Someone called the police and said that a 2 year old wanted to hug a police officer.  Jeremy got to answer the call! 

Charbonneau Park

Papa Ray and Kim were camping up on the Snake River at Charbonneau Park.  We went to see them for the day.

The kids grilled their hot dogs and marshmallows. 

We bought our boat and Papa Ray and Kim had a boat.

When the kids were done, Jeremy just dropped them off at the campsite while he took the boat back to the boat launch. The just hiked right up!

Kayaking

Papa Norm was really excited about how much the kids liked the kayaks so he bought a 3rd one!  There is a lake owned by the Port of Royal that he really wanted the kids to go to so we brought Jeremy too so he could paddle around in the new kayak.  We went up for just the day.

Nathan wanted to try some fishing. There was a fish right there swimming around but it wasn't hungry and wouldn't bite. 

It was a very hot day.
