Elizabeth had a piano recital at the end of January. I didn't get any pictures but got this short video! The video of the actual piano songs was too long to post.

Night of the Notables
5th graders present the "Night of the Notables." Every student researches a notable person from history. Most of the notable people are American.
Nathan decided to research Nathan Hale! Several years ago, he discovered the book series "Nathan Hale's Hazardous Tales." The series tells about American history and is narrated by Nathan Hale.
We also visited Nathan Hale's school house in Connecticut this past summer so we had pictures of that for Nathan's project.
He created a board with facts and maps from Nathan Hale's life. He memorized a 2 minute speech about Nathan Hale's life. He then presented this at this special night. There were about 100 5th graders there!
We bought a colonial costume.
Papa Norm and Gram made a quick trip down to hear the speech!

Award Assemblies
Every month, the school has an awards assembly and one student from each class is selected to receive either an academic award or a citizenship award. I go to these short assemblies and then forgot to put up the pictures.
Elizabeth won an academic award for December. She is in the middle row in a dark purple fleece.
Nathan won a citizenship award in October. He's in the back row in a red shirt.
