A dog and book
Every morning, when Nathan leaves for school, he has a cute ritual.
He sets up his animal of the day and the book he wants to read when he gets home right inside the front door.
Then, when he gets home, the two things he loves most are there waiting for him!
Whenever I walk by it during the day, it makes me smile because I'm reminded of him.

Family Expo
We went to the Family Expo this weekend. The kids had a fun time!
Elsa-always a big hit.
Reptile man is also fun. Nathan, did you know there is an alligator on your head?
Elizabeth would only pet the alligator. She didn't want it on her head.
A very huge snake!
A fun model train set up. The kids loved to follow those trains around!
Nathan up on stage performing clown tricks. He's holding the stick and whirling around the frisbee.
Elizabeth playing with some kind of special magic sand.
Ronald McDonald called Elizabeth up to the stage.
He handed her a huge crayon that broke. Everyone laughed.
They also had their picture taken. Then, his camera broke and everyone laughed.
It was a fun outing. The kids saw animals, cloggers, lots of clowns, and brought home a lot of fun things like frisbees and lunch boxes!

A Cat Tutu
Elizabeth made a cat tutu by hooking them all into her undies. Very nice. Then, she made a hat out of her undies too.

A Warm Day!
Last weekend, we had a random warm sunny day with no wind! The kids played outside a LOT!
They ate lunch outside.
They did some sidewalk chalk art. This is Nathan's picture of a garden. They played baseball too!
Elizabeth's sparkly red dress made pretty red spots on the wall!

Bus Driver
Nathan wrote this cute letter to his bus driver. For some reason, I must have taken the picture upside down and it won't flip it for me!

Cute Things 7 year olds do
They write adorable thank you notes. Here is Auntie Laura's thank you note from Christmas.
They make their own fruit salads. This fruit salad has oranges, bananas, apples, and almonds.
They love going to the library and checking out chapter books. He's almost done with ALL The Magic Tree House books!
They build great forts out of blocks.

Snow!
We had some snow a few weeks ago. Just one day's worth. It might be all we get this year, so the kids bundled up and went out!
Kids bundling up for snow play is the cutest thing ever.
The snowpants are so cute!
Trying to make snowmen out of dry snow...
Snow angels
Snow balls
Shoveling snow into buckets is great fun when you're 4!
Her little snowman. Rocks for a face and twigs for arms!
Trying to shovel enough snow to make a snow mountain.

Skate Night
We all went to the school skate night at the Rollarena. It was Elizabeth's first time on "real" roller skates.
The first several laps she had to make holding a parent's hand. It was amazing to see how much she progressed though in just a few hours!
Nathan made great progress too in the time we were there. He started the night having to hold the wall to make it all the way around, but by the end, he was skating without holding the wall!
By the end, Elizabeth was skating the whole way around all by herself (with a lot of help from the wall). But it was still amazing!

New Years
Jeremy had a lot going on at work and with Explorer Academy so we went up to Royal City without him for New Years.
The kids had a great time skating in the basement. It was COLD out so having that place to play was fantastic!
Pippa enjoyed watching.
Zooming!
Here's Nathan peeling apples for an apple crisp.
Elizabeth did the crust and Nathan cut up apples!
More skating...
Tummy rubs
For an exciting New Years Eve game, the kids and I copied Pippa's moves. We didn't get in much movement.
Who wants a tummy rub?
There is a dog on the couch downstairs.
Nathan is trying to teach Pippa. Here, he is reading "Clifford's Good Deeds" in the hopes Pippa will learn from Clifford's examples. Maybe Pippa can now join the fire department or save the day in another way!
Reading books to Papa.
Auntie Laura reading!
