Nathan at Baseball

I made sure to get a few pictures of Nathan at baseball practice today.

Her Royal Majesty

Elizabeth likes to dress up as a queen. Then, she sits up high in a chair and orders people around. Mostly, she orders her guard around. I'm not sure why he's not in the pictures. He's probably off running errands for the queen.

(The drumstick is her magic wand).

First Baseball Practice

Today was Nathan's first baseball practice. Well, I didn't get any pictures. Jeremy was there today and he helped out Nathan and the other kids. Elizabeth and I climbed trees. I'm sure I'll get a lot of pictures of him during his games.

Fence Building

The fence has finally been built between our house and the neighbors! All we have left now is a few gates in the front. Here are a few photos of all the boys working.

Muddy Little Handprints

If you look closely, you can see little muddy handprints on the window. They are Elizabeth's. Right now, our garden is empty. Of course, it's become a fun mud pit for the kids to play in. Every morning, Elizabeth asks me, "Can I play in the mud?"

The mudprints were on the outside. Cute!

Easter Egg Hunt

We decided to go to the town Easter Egg Hunt today. It wasn't much of a hunt. The kids just ran out on a big field of over 5000 eggs and picked some up! I was worried the kids wouldn't get any since they're not very competitive or pushy, but with that many eggs, they managed to get several! Luckily, it was a lovely morning.

Holding his Easter basket

Elizabeth was on the field for 3-5 year olds.

Parents were allowed to help here.

The Easter Bunny!

Coming back from her "hunting."

Looking through the few candies. Luckily, there were not a ton in each egg and Nathan couldn't have most of them anyway since they were chocolate.

It was Elizabeth's first time meeting the Easter Bunny. She said, "This is my very first time meeting the Easter Bunny!!" She couldn't stop looking at it.

Nathan got to take off with the 6-8 group.

He got several eggs too!

Funny Things the Kids Say

Yesterday after dinner, the kids and I went on our afternoon walk. Each one said something really funny.

1. Nathan had eaten a yucky sugary candy he got at a birthday party. It had turned his mouth blue. As we were leaving, he said, "Mom is it illegal to go outside with a blue mouth?"

On the walk, a few people actually did comment on his blue mouth. He is big on making sure he never breaks the law.

2. As we were walking, Elizabeth was humming and singing and picking dandelions like she normally does. Then, she piped up, "Mom, I really love my human life."

Perhaps she has been watching too many movies with mermaids and people that have turned into frogs.

Problems at Cat School

There were some issues at cat school today. The cats all climbed a tree and couldn't get down. Luckily, the friendly janitor came with his loader to rescue the cats.

Track Meet

We went to our middle school track meet yesterday. The weather was perfect so it was a great day to go and not have the kids complain! Nathan said it was the best part of his day. He loved it. Elizabeth said it was the worst part of her day because it was boring. We loaded up with snacks to try to keep her busy. It worked for a while but then she started complaining she wanted to go home.

I didn't take a picture until it was too late, but here is Nathan helping the coach move the starting blocks from the 100 start down to the start for the 1600. It was pretty funny. He just asked the coach if he could help!

Elizabeth folding her napkin and eating her snacks.

Nathan had a good time. He would watch every heat of the 100 hurdles and the 100. Between heats, he would race across the field and pretend he was racing too. We went to the meet to watch our neighbor girl. She won the 100! When we left she was also ahead in the high jump.

Cat School

Elizabeth taught "Cat School" this morning. Here are her students. They were learning about shapes. Later, they went on a field trip. It was pretty funny.

Tulips!

We're getting some pretty tulips! They end up in vases very quickly.

Elizabeth and I headed to the park today and we picked up Charlotte on the way!

Backyard Water Slide

Our weather decided to take a summer turn the past few days. We hit 78 yesterday and today it's 80! The kids figured out a way to make themselves a waterslide. Someone sprays the slide and down they come! Today, we're going to try to put the slip and slide at the bottom and see if they can just keep sliding down the slight slope.

Feeling the 80 degree temperature is amazing! We just want to spend all our time outside.

Daffodils!!!

I found this out on our porch this morning.

We planted a lot of bulbs last fall and our daffodils have been coming up! They don't stay in the ground long. A little girl comes along and picks them all and puts them in vases. Our tulips are just about to bloom too! We will have to plant more this fall so we get even more next year.

Water!!

The water came on yesterday! Nathan went outside and started dancing in the spraying water. Time for growing vegetables/fruits and a nice green lawn.

Riding the Horse

This horse has taken quite a beating over the years. Now it has two kids on it! It probably won't make it much longer.

Busted!!

Can you believe these two got pulled over by the police? And in their own driveway? Must have been riding their bikes too fast.

Park Play

We played at another park today.

Spinning

Swinging

Throwing rocks of course

Finding the best rocks

The best part about the day was they found a rotting fish carcass. Elizabeth is poking it with a stick. Pippa would have loved this Laura!

Nathan wanted his picture taken next to the dead fish. They wanted to bring it home as a souvenir, but that was clearly out.  Instead, they brought goose feathers. Still yucky, but a better choice.

Bonfire

Jeremy and Nathan went up to Ellensburg for a bonfire. Elizabeth was really sick and I stayed home with her. Jeremy took a few photos. Nath...
