A Nathan joke
Nathan came up to tonight and said, "Mom, I thought of a great joke!"
"What do you call a cow in Hawaii??
"A Honomoomoo. "

Despite the cold weather, Jeremy finished setting up the play structure. The kids headed out for a little swinging.

Someone's birthday is coming up
Elizabeth's birthday is coming up in a few weeks and today we bought all of her party supplies. This little girl was so excited to pick up her plates, napkins, balloons and cupcake ingredients!

They're getting heavy!
Dad can still lift both of them but it's getting harder and harder!
(Yes, Jeremy's head is shaved. It is for cancer support for a lady at his work that just started chemo).

A Stripes Kind of Day
This morning, I told Elizabeth to go get dressed. She disappeared into her room and I could hear her talking and singing and pulling out her drawers.
When she came out, she was wearing this outfit. She told me it was a "stripes kind of day."

Tri-Cities Sportsman Show
We went to the Tri-Cities Sportsman Show this weekend. Jeremy had to work, but Papa Norm and Gram were very nice and came down to the show with us.
Nathan had a GREAT time!
After a short safety talk, he shot his first gun. Most of his shots were really close to right in the middle!
Checking out how he did.
Jeremy was at work, but stopped by for a few minutes before running off to a call. Nathan was very proud to show off his shooting skill!
There was a "Large Cat" show. It featured a tiger, black panther, bobcat and caracal. Here's a picture of the tiger. Nathan thought it was great.
Nathan also caught his first fish!!
He and Papa watched it get put into a bag. It flopped around in the bag for a while on the way home. We didn't know how to cut it open for dinner (since Jeremy was at work), but our nice next door neighbor is a huge fisherman so he was nice enough to show us how!
Nathan also shot a real bow and arrow for the first time. I did not get a picture as Elizabeth was having some issues. She did not have nearly as much fun as Nathan. This is why she is not in any of the pictures.
Nathan eating his fish! He gobbled up the whole thing.

Exhausting Shows
Quite often, the kids like to put on "shows" for me. They basically put on a play based on a book or movie they've read or seen.
I took a few pictures of their show today. It was Rapunzel. Elizabeth has it pretty easy. She wears her (too big) Rapunzel dress and tries to remember lines. She only plays the part of Rapunzel.
Nathan on the other hand, plays every single other part. He literally runs to his room and changes costumes every few minutes.
These pictures were taken in a span of about 5 minutes.
Rapunzel and Flynn Ryder.
Rapunzel and Mother Gothel
Back to Flynn Rider
A guard and Rapunzel.
The white horse Maximus.
He runs around changing costumes so much, he gets all sweaty and out of breath. It's hilarious.

Mr. Wakeman's kindergarten
Nathan sometimes holds his own school for Elizabeth. He teaches her all subjects and they even have specialists and recess!
Here she is arriving at school.
He makes sure she brings her "show and tell" and her homework. If she's good at school, she gets stickers.
Playing a game in PE. She throws a stuffed animal and he hits it with a pillow.

Trapped Inside
We've had some horrible weather lately! First, thick fog. Then, ice and freezing rain. Lately, it's been non stop winds. January has not been nice. Not that it ever is, but we feel so trapped inside!! I took a few pictures of some of their indoor games. Yes, the hallway looks like this quite often. Here, they are playing the matching game.
We can't wait until February!

Fun outside
After a long run of bad weather, we are finally able to do a little bit of playing outside! Here are a few photos from yesterday. Nathan was in kindergarten.
Elizabeth helped Jeremy change the oil. She hands him the tools.
Scooting ALL the way to the stop sign.
We took about 5 breaks between here and the stop sign.

Art Projects
The kids continue to work on art projects. We haven't had a lot going on lately (so much less to blog about). The weather has been yucky, the holidays are over, and Nathan's back in school. We did just start back up with swimming lessons this week though! The kids are doing great!

Snow White and Rapunzel
Elizabeth got a great hand me down Snow White dress from her friend Kendall. It fits perfectly and she just adores it!
Showing off how fluffy her dress is.
Snow White likes to play with Rapunzel. Yes.
Elizabeth received the Rapunzel dress for Christmas but it's a bit big. However, it fits someone else perfectly!
