It's not unusual to keep flowers and dogs on your head, right?

Neighborhood Fall Party
One of our neighbors decided that we were going to have a fall party and do fun things! Everyone brought food and we had games and pumpkin carving. The fire department even showed up (she had called). The kids got to crawl all over the truck and ambulance.
Nathan driving a fire truck.
Elizabeth had a blast driving the fire truck.
Holding hands?
Like I said, climbing all over.
Charlotte and Elizabeth checking out the ambulance.
I asked Elizabeth what she thought about the ambulance and she did this....ok....
Nathan loved the ambulance!
Elizabeth's outfit cracked me up. Striped pants, polka dot coat, and heart polka dot dress. That is a lot of clashing!

Autumn Bike Rides
We've been taking advantage of this fantastic autumn weather. Lots of biking!
She's become talented at riding a bike and blowing on dandelions at the same time.
Nathan is so fast you can barely see him!

Halloween Baskets!
Papa Ray and Kim came with some fun Halloween baskets filled with new art supplies!! I think it's better than candy! The kids have been doing art projects ever since.
He was so excited!
Yes, it was on the same day as the Dinosaurs. Nathan had his face painted to look like a dinosaur!

Return of the Dinosaurs!
The dinosaurs came to Pasco! Gram was so nice and came down and took us to the show. Nathan had a blast! Elizabeth was not as impressed.
Nathan posed in front of many different dinosaurs. Here is the triceratops.
They had moving dinosaur rides! Here is Nathan on another triceratops.
The big T-Rexes. Nathan said they were his favorite part.
Elizabeth was quite interested in the blood coming out of the dead dinosaur.
Dinosaur jumpy things.
Nathan got to dig for fossils!
Elizabeth didn't want to participate but she watched a bit of the fossil brushing.
More dinosaurs
I finally took Elizabeth out to the lobby to get popcorn. She told me this was her favorite part of the day. That and the bleeding dead dinosaur. We chatted with Nola while out here!

Trunk or Treat
The kids had their first Halloween even last night. Trunk or Treating at church!
Here they are posing in their costumes. See our nice blue door? Jeremy had just finished painting it. I love it!
The parking lot at church was full of cars with candy in trunks. There were fun decorations and also this 'house" you could walk into. There was scary fog and noises coming out. Plus, the sign said "Tasty Children Welcome." The kids' faces crack me up in this picture because they seem so unsure of what's going on in there! They didn't go in.
The puppy did some crafts in the craft room.
The kitty was not interested in crafts. She just wanted snacks.
Goodbye first Halloween event!

Pumpking Carving!
The pumpkins are carved!
They started carving inside, but then realized it would be a much better idea to make a mess outside!
Trying to scoop out the pumpkin guts.
Mom, my hand is itchy.

A Giant Crane
They make some cranes in Pasco. We went over to have a look.
Can you see Nathan next to some of the cranes?
Looking at the cranes.
Here they are in the crawler tracks of a HUGE crane. This crane is 500 feet!! They just finished building it!
Walking under the boom of the huge crane. This this amazingly huge! I wish the boom had been up but even then I could never have fit it all in the photo!

October 23
Laura, it's October 23rd and I'm running in shorts and a tank top. I had to slather on lots of sunblock.
I know you're thinking I'm tricking you, but look at the leaves on the tree! They prove it's October. Totally red and falling off! And apparently 72 degrees!

Windsocks for Sale!
Yesterday, Nathan randomly decided to make some windsocks. He made one out of an old oatmeal container. The other he made out of construction paper.
Then he decided to sell them.
He made a sign that said 1 cent windsocks.
Then, he made a check in sheet. Apparently, all of his customers were going to check the box.
They set out chairs in the driveway and started yelling "Windsocks for sale!"
Within 10 minutes, they had sold both of the windsocks.
The construction manager for the housing development gave them $2 and the guy across the street came over and gave them a quarter.
Nathan announced, "Gosh windsocks are popular. I had no idea! I had better make some more. I think I'll make 9 so I won't run out so fast again."
It was hilarious.

Happy Birthday Papa Norm
When Papa Norm was here yesterday for Nathan's race, we celebrated his birthday too! Uncle Rick's parents came over, Jeremy barbequed and we all had cupcakes! This time, Gram made the Nathan-safe cupcakes with orange frosting and sprinkles. They were delicious!
