Crib Games

Elizabeth sometimes likes to lay in her crib and watch her mobile.

Nathan has decided he also likes to do this. It's interesting how whatever toy Elizabeth is interested in, Nathan suddenly loves as well.

Here they both are in HER crib.

Nathan's green lunch

Nathan had a fun "green" lunch today!

He ate a whole avocado (avocados are frequently eaten in houses with food allergies!)

So, he had:

Green Avocado
Green Grapes
Green water (food coloring)
Green fruit snacks (the kind in the John Deere box)
Green straw
Green fork
Green plate

He thought it was pretty cool! It was like one of his favorite books, "Green Eggs and Ham."

Raspberries

Our next door neighbor brings us LOTS of raspberries during the summer. Nathan sat down with the huge container and started eating!

Elizabeth 5 Months

Elizabeth is now 5 months old! Some of the things she does:

-Grabs at everything
-Laughs at Nathan
-Constantly has her hands in her mouth
-Still gets up about 3 times a night
-Plays in her exersaucer and jungle gym. She can use pretty much all the toys now!
-Still not a huge fan of much tummy time

Aunt LeAnne Came to Visit!

Aunt LeAnne came to visit! We hadn't seen her in over a year. It was her first time meeting Elizabeth. Aunt LeAnne saw all of Nathan's cool things. Sandbox, swing, yellow poultry toys, and trains. They had fun playing together!

Lunch on the Deck

It can be very fun in the summer to eat lunch on the deck.

You get Mom and Dad to make you some pasta and get you some raspberries.

Then, you get your little table.

Then, you get your 2 cups of water (In this case it's a glass of orange juice)

Last, you enjoy your meal in the sunshine!

Lots of fun for a 2 year old!

Pool Parties

Does anyone else have a nude waterpark in their backyard?

Because I do.

The shadows are strategically placed here, but Nathan is totally naked.

He doesn’t like it when his swimsuit gets wet.

If you think about it, it makes sense.

Mom and Dad want him to keep his pants dry. Now we tell him it's ok to be soggy.

Well, if you aren’t lucky enough to have a nude waterpark in your backyard, they are quite funny places.

Elizabeth at play

Reading with Nathan before bedtime

Blowing bubbles and getting her shirt all wet

Playing with Aunt Laura

Taking a snooze in the stroller on a family walk (and no, she's not allowed to touch the ducks)

Chewing on Big Bird (yes, we have a lot of stuffed birds in our house)

In her snowsuit ready to go outside on a June day

Watching some Thomas

Trying to get the best spot on the couch

Laughing with Aunt Laura

And of course...TUMMY TIME!!

Happy 4th of July!

We're all wearing lots of red, white, and blue. Elizabeth is wearing a onesie with flags and stars that Aunt Laura got for her. And Nathan tearfully let me put on the striped shirt. He wanted to wear his Thomas sweatshirt of course.

Trip to Visit the Grandparents

Well, I'm a little late on posting this, but we went on a trip to see all the grandparents a while back! We went to Royal, Yakima, and Ellensburg. We saw all the grandparents plus Uncle Brian and Aunt Laura.

In Royal, Nathan had a fun time driving tractors! Papa Norm has 4 tractors and Nathan got to drive 2 of them! He also had fun playing on an (old) teeter-totter.
Grandma Jane made him meatballs and cupcakes and he was very excited about these! He also got a new pair of irrigation boots just his size! We also visited his friend KJ. KJ had a neat new play structure and some fun toys. One toy was a little lawnmower. The boys had fun playing together. Elizabeth also got to meet Lainee. They are still too little to play, but someday they'll have fun!

Then, we got to go see Grandma Pam's new house! She had just moved in. Grandma Pam had some yummy hummus. Nathan fell in love with hummus. Uncle Brian was there too! Nathan, Daddy, and Uncle Brian had a lot of fun throwing rocks in Grandma Pam's pond and creek. We then went to McDonald's where Nathan got to play on all the toys (but not eat anything of course!).

Off to Yakima we went! We got to see Papa Ray and Kim's new house. They had also just moved in! Papa Ray has a neat new riding lawnmower. So what did Nathan do? Drive it of course! That was fun. Papa Ray also has a fish pond so Nathan had fun playing around there too.

Discovery Park

A new park opened up in the Spokane Valley! It's a really different kind of park. It was very fun. We went there with the other preschool kids. Hopefully, we'll get to go again soon.

Nathan's sandbox

Nathan has a new sandbox filled with goodies! Grandpa Norm brought over some new sand. Dad built a new sandbox. Grandpa Norm and Grandma Jane also got Nathan a really cool backhoe that he LOVES to play with. He spends a lot of time playing outside in it.

Funny things Nathan does

Here's Nathan with 2 large sticks. He plays with them outside.

Nathan does really funny things. I need to do a better job of writing them down!

He'll pick up ants off the floor (yes, we get ants for a little while in the spring). Then, he'll carry them into his room and put them down the heat vent.

Today, I was taking a shower. I heard him open the door. Then, I heard our sonicare toothbrush start. I peeked my head out and said "Hey!" He had it in his mouth and was using it! It was like he was embarrassed to be caught. He immediately took the brush part off, put it expertly back, and ran out the door and closed it.

He rides around the house with his motorcycle. He's way too big for it and doesn't use the pedals. He uses his feet like the Flinstones.

Today, I asked him what his favorite color is. He said, "Yellow...and blue! Yellow like my ducks and blue like Thomas."

Elizabeth 4 Months

Oops, I forgot to do the Elizabeth 4 Month update!

Here's her 4 month photo. I ADORE this little pink outfit. It's a onesie but has a ruffle on the front so it looks like a dress.

Well, now that she's almost 5 months, here are some of the cute things she's doing.

-Reaching and grabbing things
-Rolling both ways
-Eating a little rice cereal
-Playing in her Exersaucer! She does pretty well grabbing at the toys and putting things in her mouth
-Razzing-She loves to blow bubbles and make spitting sounds. She makes herself laugh.

Her eczema is pretty bad. It's worse now that she's not wearing pants. Her legs dry out faster and she gets really itchy and scratches herself all over. We took her to the allergist and had the blood and skin tests done. Supposedly, she has no allergies! YAY! We'll keep a close eye on her though.

She still refuses a bottle or pacifier of any kind. Also, still not doing well sleeping at night. She usually wakes up 4 times a night. The worst is right at the beginning where she'll wake up every hour. We're hoping she'll get better soon!

Bonfire

Jeremy and Nathan went up to Ellensburg for a bonfire. Elizabeth was really sick and I stayed home with her. Jeremy took a few photos. Nath...
