Auntie Laura

Here is a funny conversation I overheard the other day.

E: I sure wish Auntie Laura could move down here and be near us.
N: Me too, but she would need a new job.
E: I know! She could work at that new dog shelter that is being built down the road. She knows a lot about dogs since she has Pippa! She loves dogs!
N: No. She would get fired from that job. She would always be rewarding the dogs with treats when they have bad behavior.

Future Career

Here's something cute Elizabeth said the other day.

"Mom, when I grow up, I can't decide if I want to be a Geologist or an Artist. So I figured it out! I'm going to paint rocks! Then I can be both!"

Soccer

Nathan's been playing soccer this spring. Papa Ray came to take him to soccer today. It was picture day so Papa Ray was nice enough to take some pictures for me.

Nathan's team. It's 2nd and 3rd graders.

He took a picture of Nathan playing goalie. The boys switch around positions during the game.

The Cheese Stands Alone

The 3rd graders took part in a musical called "The Cheese Stands Alone." Nathan is in the middle of this picture. The main characters who spoke and sang were on stage. The kids in the chorus were on the sides. Nathan was in the chorus.

Jeremy took a few pictures. We didn't get pictures of the main stage.

Piano Playing Using your Feet

This is how Elizabeth likes to practice piano sometimes. She plays with her feet. I'm not sure how effective this strategy is, but she sure has fun making fun sounds!

Science Experiment

Auntie Laura came to visit. While here, she helped the kids with a science experiment. They put white carnations in food coloring, The carnations ended up being quite pretty.

Nathan showing off the yellow and purple carnations.

Elizabeth showing off the other colors.

Cute Things Elizabeth Says

Here are a few quotes from Elizabeth today.

"I'm going to be a rock for Halloween! I don't even care what kind. Even if I'm a Basalt rock! Of course, I'd rather be a diamond."

"Do you know who Henry Porter is? Harry Potter's evil twin."

I hope Auntie Laura has some creative ideas on how to make a rock costume.

Talent Show

The school had their talent show tonight. This year, the theme was "country and western." The kids' piano teacher helped find them piano songs that fit that theme.

Nathan played a song called "Square Dance."

Taking his bow

Elizabeth played "O Susannah"
